What is your name, what do you go by?
My Name is Kevin, I go by A.K.A. (A King Also)

Where in the puget sound do you reside?
I live in THE WASH!!!

Do you listen to the radio, if so are you satisfied with the todays music?
I don’t listen to the radio because a majority of what is played on the radio is paid for to be on the radio.

Who has made the most impact on your music career?
The inspiration for the music comes from the late great Heavy D (R.I.P.) and my Uncle the King Of Funk George Clinton.

What are your 5 all time favorite hip hop albums?
That is a very hard question so here is the list I can think of in no particular order:
1. Tribe Called Quest – People’s Instinctive Travels And The Paths Of Rhythm
2. Busta Rhymes – The Coming
3. Outkast – ATLiens
4. Ice Cube – Leathal Injection
5. George Clinton – Dope Dogs

If you were to perform/open up for any artist, who would it be?
that too is a tough question I think it would be dope to open for Talib Kweli or Outkast, I would say LL Cool J is who I want to open for!

What can we expect to see at a live show?
I big N***A jumpin around on stage giving you his all….

It’s a great song and everyone can vibe to it.

What is your name, what do you go by?
My name is Josh Rizeberg & that's what I go by.

Where in the puget sound do you reside?
Tacoma, WA

Who or what inspired you to start making music, who inspired your spoken word?
My own creative-energy within myself caused me to make music. All the great poets that came before myself inspired my spoken-word.

What major label feature would you get on an upcoming album, if anyone?
I would never pay for a major-label feature. If by chance I met someone and we vibed-out & decided to work together that would be great; but financially speaking it would not be something I would pay for.

Where in the northwest is your favorite spot to perform?
I love performing in any underground hood-spot.

When will Tacoma start taking its hip hop scene more seriously?
I really don't know when Tacoma will take it's Hip-Hop seriously. I honestly think we've got a long way to go before that happens.

Why do you think most artists give away there music for free now?
I think most artists give there music away for free because they can't sell it. An artist's music has become his business-card. Selling the rights to a song, merchandise, & shows are the way to get paid. When an artist gets big enough they can sell their music.

How has the opportunity to be a columnist at the Weekly Volcano been?
I love writing about local Hip-Hop. Writing for the Volcano has not been ideal. They are struggling like all print-media. I wish journalism could be a more viable career, but at this point in the game newspapers are really falling-off.

How has your monthly show at Hell's Kitchen been goin, what can we expect once there?
The monthly is going perfect. Better than I hoped honestly. When you're there ya can expect a friendly environment and top-notch
from only the best Hip-Hop artists.

What advice would you give to a youngster trying to come up in the South Puget Sound urban scene?
I would tell young-artists to be themselves and come-up with their own sound. Don't try to make what ya think others want to hear. Just make the songs ya want to make.

Why did you submit this particular track to the Puget Sound Mixtape?
I picked this song because hopefully me and Sic Ill will be releasing a video to it soon.

Do you have any shout-outs you want to give out?
I want to shout-out Mr. Von and Sweat-Box Entertainment for running "Word 3rd Thursdays" with me. I want to shout-out Boombox Massacre and Leah Rizeberg for making "Rize Of the Boom" with me. I want to shout-out eeetree for working on the soon to be released "Goats Who Star At Stars" album. I also want to shout-out my neighborhood Hilltop, the D.A.S.H. Performing Arts Center, and all the innovative people in my hood.

What is your name, what do you go by?
My name is Mike Smith and my stage name is the same, Mike Smith.

Where in the puget sound do you reside?
I'm from Kent, Wa but reside now in Renton.

If you could meet any artist/musician face to face living or dead, who would it be and why?
Chris Martin from Coldplay. He's an amazing pianist and has a bigger fan base then any other band worldwide.

Who in the local area do you think has the biggest chance to make it big in your opinion?
I've met plenty of artist that have the talent to make it big, including myself, just havent got the oppurtunity yet.

What is your most favorite track you've ever made?
I Dare You Too off my last album Social Reject.

If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Any sold out theater or auditorium at any major university. Gorge too, the sound their is outstanding!

Do you think the clear channel owned local radio stations will ever be more open to independent music?
Yeah, some do, but for only an hour or two a week. Local stations should be playing good local artists everyday mixed with the others in my opinion.

Why did you submit this particular track to the Puget Sound Mixtape?
Today, all rap is repetitve hooks, auto tune lyrics, and heavy beats. Rap has lost the humor and lyrical part, this song is amusing and lyrical, plus has a little funkyness to it.

Do you have any shout-outs you want to give out?
Glenn Kennedy and Pierre Ferguson of Blue Room Music for helping me put together my latest song collection and 206proof for showing me how ridiculous hip hop artists treat eachother in the Seattle area....stop clowning eachother, you all love rap and want the same thing, so show more love and make the Seattle scene more positive.
