OK KIDS, NOW I DONE SEEN THE WEARING OF DOGTAGS ON THE RISE....BY EVERYONE FROM GRANDMAS TO 6 YEAR OLD GIRLS...WITH EVERYTHING FROM RHINESTONES TO FLASHING LED LIGHTS TO SPINNING FACES....

THIS HAS TO STOP

Dogtags were originally used by soldiers...The Civil War provided the first recorded incident of American soldiers making an effort to ensure that their identities would be known should they die on the battlefield. Their methods were varied, and all were taken on a soldier's own initiative. In 1863, prior to the battle of Mine's Run in northern Virginia, General Meade's troops wrote their names and unit designations on paper tags and pinned them to their clothing. Many soldiers took great care to mark all their personal belongings. Some troops fashioned their own "ID" (identification) tags out of pieces of wood, boring a hole in one end so that they could be worn on a string around the neck. Thee sole purpose of the identification tag is stated by its designation. Tags found around the neck of a casualty, and only those tags found around the neck, stay with the remains at all times tags found any place besides around the neck are made note of in the Record of Personal Effects of Deceased Personnel, and placed in an effects bag. They are not removed unless there is a need to temporarily inter the remains. If there is only one tag present, another is made to match the first. If the remains are unidentified, two tags marked "unidentified" are made.

NOW I SEE PEOPLE WEARING DSOGTAGS IN PINK, GOLD, AND BABY BLUE...WITH FACES AND SLOGANS ON THEM....I SEE A 6 YEAR OLD GIRL WITH A PIC OF BOW WOW....A 12 YEAR OLD KID WITH ONE OF THE MARLBORO MAN...AND I SEE MY HOMEBOY THE OPTHER DAY WITH ONE THAT HAS HIS DAUGHTERS FACE ON IT...WITH FAKE DIAMONDS AND FLASHING LIGHTS...

WHAT THE FUCK...?????

IF ANYTHING DOGTAGS SHOULD BE SEEN AS A WAY OF MEMORIALIZING THE DEAD...ORIGINALLY IF YOU ARE WEARING SOMEONE ELSES DOGTAG IS BECAUSE YOUR BRINGING IT BACK FROM WAR, AND HE/SHE IS NO LONGER ALIVE, VIETNAM VETS WOULD BRING ONE TAG BACK TO GIVE TO THE NEXT OF KIN....OR TO REMEMBER THE FALLEN SOLDIER WHOS BODY COULDNT COME HOME...

NOT BECAUSE YOU LOVE LIL BOW WOW

NOT BECAUSE YOU HAVE A CUTE KID

NOT BECAUSE YOU WANNA LOOK LIKE A RAP STAR

NOT BECAUSE YOU SMOKE MARLBORO

NOT BECAUSE YOU THINK IT LOOKS COOL

PEOPLE GOT IT TWISTED

"ITS EASY TO BE A SOLDIER WHEN THERE AINT NO WAR"

I SAYETH TO YOU....I WILL GIVE $5 TO ANYONE THAT SNATCHES THESE FAKES OFF THE NECKS OF 12-15 YEAR OLD PUNKS ON THE STREETS....$5 FOR EACH DOGTAG SNATCHED...$20 IF YOU HAVE PICS OR VIDEO OF THE PERSON YOU SNATCHED IT FROM (PLEASE ALTER ANY FACES OR VOICES FOR PROTECTION)

please end this god forsaken fad.....along with LED belts with messages....spinner ANYTHING, and fake plast-inum ( not platinum) chains....oh yeah those fake 9 carat diamond earring gotta go too, cats thinkin they wearing $50k on they ear and they didnt even cost $50

Siccness Taliban strikes again.

Could you be any more un-patriotic you tratiors?

From the Halls of Montezuma
To the Shores of Tripoli;
We fight our country's battles
In the air, on land and sea;
First to fight for right and freedom
And to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title
of United States Marine.

Our flag's unfurled to every breeze
From dawn to setting sun;
We have fought in ev'ry clime and place
Where we could take a gun;
In the snow of far-off Northern lands
And in sunny tropic scenes;
You will find us always on the job--
The United States Marines.

Here's health to you and to our Corps
Which we are proud to serve
In many a strife we've fought for life
And never lost our nerve;
If the Army and the Navy
Ever look on Heaven's scenes;
They will find the streets are guarded
By United States Marines.

I'm rock a diamond studded head band... or put diamonds on my boxers so when my pants sag in the summertime. My dude rocks dogs tags, matter of fact he got like 5 of em we wears all at once. I gave him 2 becuase I bought them to match a watch I got but they broke out my neck.

LOL I actually got issued dog tags by the US Army and I don't even wear them bitches, I throw em in my back pocket cause they gotta be on me at all times at work.

It makes me laugh when I see folks wearin dog tags because 80% of soldiers I know don't even wear em, they just throw em in their back pocket like me.

10 years ago if you wore your name on a dog tag(army type) it was cool.It was also different and original cause nobody was really wearing' them.A lot of east coast cats were wearing them with their army fatigues years before it got commercial and became a fad.Now its just stupid.You can buy'em out of candy machines for like 50 cents now-a-days.
