just got back from seeing this, movie was pretty good but not great. a couple of memorable scenes but far between the 2:20 run time. a lot of the movie was dark which also i didnt care for. not as much action as i was expecting. good movie just not great.

Why would i be kidding? Is this not a story based on Dillinger's life?
It is a movie with writers, correct? It is BASED on a real life person that once lived in the time period named John Dillinger, but it is not a documentary right?

So if the story is weak why would we not blame the writers and instead blame the real life person this movie is loosely, at best, BASED on?


This is my problem with this movie without even seeing it. I think a period piece Michael Mann movie shoot em up bank robbery 1930's Heat is a cool idea, but when you go and put a historical figure in there it either limits the possibilities or takes it so far away from reality that it loses too much to be enjoyable.

We'll see.

Im a fan of Michael Mann, Ill probably see this sometime next week. I heard this movie was filmed with a digital camera and not film so the visuals are crisp....

I seen this last Friday........I thought it was a damn good flick. It kept me interested through the whole thing. I thought the direction was great.....it had a gritty feel to it. Depp was awesome as always, Bale is a douche like always, and that chick in it is some nice eye candy in a 30's kind of way.
