Its just part of the image...
I live in an area that has a large subculture of kids who follow rap and think cuz they flip an OZ of weed that all of a sudden they're some kinda G's.
and if I recall correctly, wearing blue and being a 'crip' was what was in during the mid to late 90s, and all of a sudden after 2000 I see more rappers and people around the streets wearing all kinds of red. Which is funny because...
Detroit doesn't really bang colors, its more of a set/block type distinction between hoods. But you see these suburban cats dressing like they're gonna jump the next 50 year old man wearing a blue business suit.
To me, gangbanging died in the 90s. Everything these days is just an imitation of what used to be. I got one friend who I knew used to be a blood, and he had to move out of Cali to Michigan just to get away from that lifestyle. Shit, even then I was skeptical of his story until I really got to know him.
In short- ya'll got way too much time on your hands if you're worrying about whether or not Weezy is geniune in his raps. He's just playing the role like every other mainstream cat out there.
Ya'll wanna tell me you got 100 million dollars but just roll through the ghetto in an 80,000 truck and your gun just to shoot cats for fun? get the fuck outta here.
