Marshall sucks. Dont let that moive fool you...that was 30+ years ago.

last time I checked the standings they were 2nd or something, but I understand they are not really good, but anyway I like them because of that movie, I feel sorry for them. But still they have had 3 good players from there, Moss, Leftwich, Pennington..

I heard they have 2 good players currently on the roster, Passmore & Marshall. I'd check the site but all this BIG 10 PAC 10 2pac BIG WEST is confusing for an Aussie..

Marshall plays in a non-BCS conference in the C-USA, which is second worst to the Sun Belt.

Marshall is technically 4th in their DIVISION (C-USA has 2 divisions, east and west) with an overall record of 4-7 and a conference record of 3-4 (they are tied with 4 other teams for "2nd"). They are eliminated from conference title contention and from post-season (bowl game) play.

I wouldnt say Leftwich is good, as he bascially got cut a few years back for the back-up at Jacksonville. Pennington is OK, but nothing special. Moss is the only real winner of the 3.

Ok so I guess, they are division 1, 2, 3,4 ect ? How do you tell what division is 1st? 2nd and 3rd?

Also, Highest Completion Percentage, Career, 66.0, Chad Pennington, 2000-Present
I stumbled onto that from wikipedia. He is doing well this season and as for Leftwich, when rofl burger gets injured he will get a chance. He was playing under Vick at Atlanta wasnt he?

Leftwich got drafted to the Jaguars and was pretty good but he got cut because he was immobile. Probably never should have been cut. He went to Atlanta (i think) after Vick already got fucked for the dogfighting stuff. Then he got cut. The Steelers lost Chuck Batch and and signed Byron "Gary Coleman" Leftwich.

Basically, there's D1, D2, and D3. Nothing matters except D1. Division 1 is broken down into A and AA. D1 AA schools also don't matter. I think there's like 120 or so Division 1 schools. Only Division 1-A schools play for the BCS Championship, and usually you have to come from a major conference to do that (Going undefeated in a shitty conference is meaningless - see Hawaii, 2007).

Marshall is Division 1-AA. It had two championships in 92 and 96. I think Division 1A is called the Bowl division and Division 1AA is called the Championship division, but those are just titles created by corporations to confuse foreigners like you into thinking that you're watching a legitimate football game. Luckily, you're on the siccness where we give you John McCain style straight talk.

Also, Marshall is from West Virginia, which is the worst state on the east coast.

Are you asking about the division break down for college football? Im not quite sure where that came from, but i was talking about the conference breakdown.

If a conference has 12 teams, they can then split it into two divisions, which then results in having a conference title game between the winners of the conference divisions at the end of the year. The SEC, ACC, Big 12, C-USA and MAC all have conference title games. The Pac-10, Big 10, MWC, Sun Belt, and WAC all have 11 teams or less and do not have title games.

As far as the whole college football picture goes, there are divisions, yes. Div. 1-A (also called FBS, Football Bowl Series) is the most known and is the top division in college football. There are 119 teams in the FBS, including Marshall.

From there, Div. 1-AA, which is now known as FCS (Football Championship Series). I do not know how many teams are in this, but they have a playoff every year as opposed to bowl games. If you cant make it to the FBS as a player, you end up here. From there, there is Div. II and Div. III, which is a bunch of small schools and sometimes JC (Junior Colleges).

As far as Pennington is concerned, his numbers may be decent, but he hasnt done shit as a QB in the NFL.

Marshall is Division 1-AA. It had two championships in 92 and 96. Marshall is a FBS school. They got bumped up to FBS status in 1997. They used to be in the MAC, but went to C-USA two years ago.

ok thanks Stealth & I Pukokeki Ioulo Momu lol.

this shit is still confusing as fuck, if you look on this page it has the divisions and at the bottom FBS (Division I-A) is what I clicked on and below is the page
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/standings?groupId=80

So what I'm seeing is a small break up of divisions, but Marshall is on the same page as the top league so this is confusing me.

Also, the Rose bowl is like the Superbowl correct? but How do they work out what teams qualify??

Marshall is in the top division, which is FBS.

The Superbowl of college football is the BCS Championship Game, which was added 3 years ago.

The whole college bowl thing is VERY confusing.

YOu mean, just like they stomped OrSU?

Lets be honest here, no Pac-10 team has an offence like Oklahoma, PERIOD. USC's defesne is great, but speed can kill USC, and a team like Florida has ALOT of that.
i agree.

and i think there are a lot of people that fail to realize that.

usc is very talented, and have a lot of depth, especially at the skill positions...however, like you said, a team that has a lot of speed like florida, and maybe even georgia, i think can cause problems for usc.
