so nowadays my computer is slow as fuck...if i try to search something on altavista or yahoo, say i look for pictures of cristina aguilera or some other celebrity slut, it takes about 5 minutes for the search engine to bring up all the matches...the only thing that is normal speed is the siccness, and thats probably because i have it on favorites...my question is.

is there a place or is there anyway that my copmputer could be reseted or rebooted so that everything is back to normal?, so that everything in the memory is like when i bought it, where i can get it back to the stock factory settings?...HP sent me a reebot disc but the cd recorder program is missing, before id put in a blank cd and the program would pop out, now its gone completey, and alos a few of the programs to type essays on are gone.

what can i do?...any info is much appreciated. :)

i found this on http:www.hp.com
-------------

Recovering the system without using Windows

Disconnect all peripherals and internal non preinstalled devices from the PC, except the monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

Turn on the computer.

When the initial blue HP screen appears, press the F10 key repeatedly until a recovery menu appears. The progress indicator that first appears does not indicate that a recovery is taking place. The progress indicator represents the time before the recovery process is started.

When the Recovery screen appears, click Next, and then click Yes to perform a normal, non-destructive recovery.

To perform a destructive recovery, click Advanced, and then click Yes.

CAUTION: A destructive recovery will format the hard drive. This will delete all the information on the hard drive and reinstall Windows XP and the original software that came with the computer.

After the System Recovery is complete, and the computer starts successfully, update the computer software as follows:
Update the system virus definitions.

Get the latest critical system updates using Microsoft's Windows Update.

Update the HP software on the system

Sounds like what HP sent you was just the OS disk (System Recovery Disc). You need the "additional software" disc too. That's where all your other programs are located on.

You might try cleaning any of the system resource eating progs out too (i.e additiona tool bars, weather bugs, Gator (GAIN) and the like). Then I'd clean and de-frag it.

yea, just some advice... the risk of downloading viruses on the internet is very high, you should get a anti virus scanner after u refomart or reset your pc.. i recommend AVG antivirus. It's free, and it works great , and updates itself. That's why i dont use p2p's anymore, because they are filled with bugs and spyware, especially Kazaa.
IRC and FTP for me. If ya have any questions, just PM me. Bye
