with the new wave of hyphy dickriders (thinking that every song that says hyphy is tight) i just want to know where this board stands on some rappers from the bay...and this is not a hate thread so dont come in here talking shit about people your mad at for some reason....just shoot a name and give a reason why you think he is overrated....

It's not that certain artists are overrated...it's just that there are a select few that get the most exposuer...they know the right people that know the right people and have access to alot more than alot of other unheard artists do...

ive always bumped keaks shit, as of late its his name thats been keepin him popular cuz his shit is below average.. im hopin these are all jus freestyles and hes gona drop a clean ass cd soon.,

do people even rate nump? i'd say he's right about where he should be, cause i hardly hear folks bigging him up about his lyrical mastery.

in the mainstream tip, a lot of journalists have been getting on the pack's hype, and i think they give them too much credit.

i think this love for mac dre is overrated.... dont get me wrong, dre was tight. i have been to a lot of mac dre shows before and they weren't always at capacity. i saw him at jimmies a few months before he died and nobody payed attention. all these "followers" who act like they were fans before he died are looking for something to latch on to. thats why the sales of his old albums went through the roof when he died. if cats were truly fans before he died, they wouldnt have to go back and buy the material. same with keak. keak been rappin since the early 90's with 3x crazy....so why is he suddenly hot? he was hot back then too. what about fab? why did son of a pimp sell and nig latin didnt??? nig latin was hot too... djs were taking songs from nig latin and putting on mixtapes as exclusives when son of a pimp dropped. cats need to just admit they jumped on the bandwagon late and not overexadurate like they had love for these rappers since the begining.

so to summarize all that...lol. its not the rappers that are overrated, its these "movements" that are suddenly behind them

mac dre is one of my favorite rappers but i agree...id say 50 percent of his fans now are bandwagoners...i dont see why this is because the mans music has allways been the same? and people who think hyphy and bay music now a days think MAC DRE.....thats all you hear from anybody now.....everyone sayin thizz iz what it izz....just because dude died dont mean you got to jump all over his nuts.....i mean im mad that dre didnt get to see what he is now.......WHY WASNT PEOPLE LISTENIN TO DRE LIKE THEY ARE NOW WHEN HE WAS ALIVE....thats all im asking....whats up with kids these days

i know im going to get e-thugged on but i say mac dre, honestly i never heard of him till like 3 months ago and i cant find anthing that amazes me. but what doodie jones said i agree since everyone rockin these shirts sayin mac dre all day never heard of him till last summer its crazy. but i aint knockin him thats just my personal opinion since i know other heads bump him and thats there shit

Im not from the Bay...so obviously, my viewpoint is goin 2 be different....but I wouldnt say he's overrated......out here we hardly ever hear anything about Fab and Id say hes pretty tight mann.....but maybe its different where ure at...I just dont think hes overrated if a lot of people still arent bumpin him.....just my opinion on this thread...40 watter is overrated.....he was savage be4....I think he really needs to pass the torch
