I hate pop rappers.

I hate internet rappers who call themselves ''great'' and act like they're GOD...because they rap on myspace.

I hate the fact that EVERYONE is a rapper these days. Seriously.

I hate watching a rap video and seeing the bitter-beer face in every shot...acting like they just caught a whiff of a fresh fart.

I hate when a male rapper has more jewelry on than some of these goth emos I see running around the mall sometimes.

I hate the coffee shop.

I hate cholo music. I don't care if you're rapping to oldie beats or rapping about a huelga bird. I hate it.

I hate hearing about all these people you would kill if they dissed you when you have 1 misdemeanor for petit theft against you.

I hate stuttering rappers...from Bizarre to g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-anything.

I hate people screaming on records...DRAMA KING! DEEEEJAAAAAY KHALED WE THE BEST LIIIIISTEEEEEEEEEN! YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

I hate izzle shizzle nizzle bofuckingrizzle.

I hate dun dun.

I hate rappers who make no sense:
i fly united, ya bitch gets excited, felony indicted, who bited, ya man is two sided, fly kid, right fist, hi miss, white shits...what?

I hate pink on rappers.

I hate Kanye's glasses.

I hate men on men kissing on leather that's so soft.

I hate T-Pain on every track.

I hate Akon on every track.

I hate that Master P doesn't cuss anymore, and I never heard him say anything except UGGGGGGHHHHHH! and YOU BOUT IT? I'M BOUT IT BOUT IT!

I hate Justin Timberlake on rap songs.

I hate Lil' Kim, Missy Elliot, Trina, and Jackie-O.

I hate white rappers who say nigga or -izzle.

I hate the unoriginality of rappers...Curtis? TI vs TIP?

I love rap. Period.
these I agree with 100%

I think part of the problem with this is too many people put out subpar albums with only one or two tracks that are banging. OF course the consumer is gonna download those 2 tracks instead of droppping money on something that is 80% filler. Look at the success itunes music store has had as well, this proves that point. Back in the day when you would buy an Illegal Business or Playaz In The Game or In A Major Way, the whole album was solid from front to back because the artists gave a fck back then and wanted to be dope...
Yeah. iTunes has saved me some good money. Even some undergorund cats were pissing me off. I used tt rush out and buy every new First Degree CD that dropped. No matter what. I was browsing iTunes and listed to FU3 and another one that just dropped and was glad i saved my money. I think I only bough t1 or 2 songs from each CD. Right noe Tech N9ne hasnt let me down yet, so I will rush out and buy any of his shit or the old shit I dont have yet.

I think what makes it bad for alot of people is we grew up in the golden age of rap...at least for me, in the 90's. Nothing will compare IMO unless some drastic changes occur. There is just too much BS out there now.

I always get asked if I like such and such song, or did you hear this or that song ont he radio. I give them a dumb ass look...like I wouldnt be caught dead listening to the radio or the garbage that is on it.

Rap is WACK nowadays for the most part... here's why:

- Anybody can make a CD

- Majority of rappers talk about the same subjects (or latest fads) and sound the same

The major rap labels are all going to fall off, and independent will hurt too in my opinion because even if you have a tight indi release people will still burn it. You have to be a great hustler to get off cd's independently, and it's not a glamourizing lifestyle standing on a corner all day everyday for years to make ends meet.

Rap used to be fun and exciting... now everybody's 2 yr old cousin can cut a cd in their recording crib or closet LOL

REdRUM that was a classic post by the way... agree with you all the way around.

Also agree that there are no regional sounds anymore... you can't tell where a rapper is from anymore when you used to always be able to. It's like everyone has a Lil John beat... hardly any character is left

Same here! I only see music videos when I'm @ other peoples house. I can't tell u who has the #1 radio hit or who's doing what in the mainstream. I don't watch VH1 Hip Hop Honors award, BET Hip Hop awrds or any of that other shit. I read Source & XXL but never by it cuz its nothin 2 read about 1 rapper I like & 50 I don't like. I even stopped going 2 other hip hop message boards for the most part cuz as soon as I mention an underground rappers name in a thread people start talking hella shit cuz they never heard of the person. When people ask me if I ever heard of a new song that's out about 85% of the time I look @ them & say "is it on the radio"? They'll be like "yeah", I'll be like "never heard of it".

i think hip hop needs help. Somebody needs to start diggin its grave and pull em the fuck out. Looks like Jigga, Lupe, Nas, Wu-Tang, B. Lamont have already started digging. Still got a long way to go and alot of dumb butts to wake up. Commercialize realness.

Thanks...

But I agree with your point on the sound of music these days; I remember when you used to hear a song, and be like, 'yeah, that's from NY', or 'that's a west coast banger'...

Now, you can't tell. And I don't mind an artist from SD using a NY beat...but when they ALL are on ALL of the songs...that's shitty.

I think entertainment in general is falling fast these days... I think there is too much of an emphasis on "YOUNG" talent these days instead of just talent in general. Let's get one thing straight marketers are not artist, so once marketers start telling artist what to write and whom to write it to, the art suffers greatly. Secondly "grown folks" have all the money so why would you market to kids, whom have no money of their own and would rather download an album than buy, especially that the youngsters have more technical knowledge that older folks meaning they would be more apt to download than purchase. So why would you market your work to someone whom is basically going to steal it, while alieanating the people with money whom would rather pay for your product "if the like it", than downloading it... just lost my train of thought, but you know what I am getting at...
