Very legit question. It seems like once someone does something, everyone catches on. Videos used to be exclusive in a sense. Only certain cats could make em, but like you said. Everyone has a video. Mixtapes are played out, magazine ads really don't amount to much either.

Seems like the game may be stagnant now. I really am interested in seeing what's next. Cuz in this digital world, the possibilities are endless

The music industry has always been over saturated. Look at the Motown days everybody had a 45 wit a one hit wonder on it. I dont know what the answer is but I just stick to the people I like. Its hard to listen to new stuff.

Cats need to start networking and brush any issues aside. Thing is, I might have something Gruff doesn't have, or vice versa. Playa Rae may have something neither one of us has. This could be dope beats, hot hook, plugs with certain folks, equipment, etc. That's as far as the South Bay scene goes though. As far as an entire REGION, I think the older, more seasoned cats need to look for diamonds in the rough.

The rap game in the Bay Area is like one big high school. Certain cats clique up, and if you aren't part of that, you're brushed off (even if you got some hot shit). If some of us went to L.A. to network, a lot of cats would fuck with you...if you're hot, you're hot.

I think we need to start coming together and doing shows on the strength, and spread the cash equally afterwards. If a few hot cats did a show and packed it, it would be on. The money and recognition is in the great shows, not a dope album. You do an off the hook show at one venue, another venue will pick it up, and so on. Up and coming folks should spend countless hours in the studio (myself included) to get that perfect shit. If you question it, don't put it out there.

CCHHUUUCCHHH!!!

Thats why us as Money Tree Ent. decided to get into all sides of the biz. We do Duplication / Replication, marketing materials (lighters, mugz, jumpdrives, etc..), vehicle wraps / banners & of course videos (Prime Zero).

Everyone has to diversify your hustle if its with photography, ghost write, clothing, graphics, etc... whatever it may be just keep it movin. The music game is on a downhill slide so if you do other things to help supliment your passion then move on it.

none of it means shit if you travel 1 state over and no one knows who the fuck you are, yet you have a hotshot mentality like you runnin shit

define lightweight fame (your block knows you, or a block the united states knows you?)
define "got $$$$" thousandaires are as common as af1's

define independant.....coppin 2000 cd's and you still got 1472 sittin in ya closet of ya moms house, gave away 300 and passed out a shitload of flyers?

or you got ya "fame" and "$$$$$", and then ya own hood attack ya credability cause you made it out and aint in the hood passin out checks to any nigga that ever walked passed you when u was on the grind?

define "everybody"

expand

you cant make it in the bay, without the bay then trying to take you down
you cant work in the hood when the hood works against you
like sydal said cats need unity

and we aint all meant to rap, just cause you got something to say dont mean everybody wanna hear story

"some of you niggas need to just stay on ya set and try and sell dope"

Real shit...and I feel the hardest thing for everybody to do is shoot for unity. More money, more support, more power...Gruff
