OK I'm on a budget

I have Cool Edit Pro right now and I need: Headphones, Mic and Good speakers to hook the headphones up to.

Can anyone give me names of cheap but reliable headphones, mic and speakers?

Also should I get a better program than Cool Edit Pro? And do I need anything else?

I'm trying to get a reliable system set up, not for studio quality songs but for good quality songs so me and my homies can drop a couple freestyles and stuff till we get into a studio. Thanks alot for any help!

in that case i would buy some behringer equipment..they pretty cheap...you shouldnt have to spend alot to accomplish your goal

Yes you will need some sort of pre-amp. I suggest getting an M-Audio sound card. They make cheaper ones that will get the job done for you. www.m-audio.com They should have a headphone jack on them too. How much of a budget are you talking about here? I can help you out better if I got some numbers.
