State your case for your player for the Heisman...give reasons, including stats, not just "John David Booty should win cuz he's a savage'...LOL

I'll start it off:

The Heisman should go to Tim Tebow, Florida Gators, because of the year he had, as a Sophomore, in the tough SEC, after losing many key players this past offseason. This is his first year starting, and he's been great. He's a threat running the ball as well as passing, and isn't afraid to take a hit. The Gators went 9-3.

Stat Overview Passing
YEAR CMP ATT YDS CMP% YPA LNG TD INT SACK RAT
2007 217 317 3132 68.5 9.88 66 29 6 12 177.85

Unlike Baseball, records DO matter in the Heisman award, which completely asinine. There are 21 other players that need to help you win games and I think its bullshit that an individual award...is determined by your teams record.

That being the case, since pretty much every team has 2+ loses (save for Kansas and Hawaii), there is no cleaer cutter this year. In a year of so much top 25 turmoil, the same can be said for the4 Hiesman award. However, i think it really comes down to McFadden and Tebow. Florida has a better record and without Tebow, the Gators may just be a 6-6 team. Arkansas on the other hand, has another weapon and you may have heard of him: Felix Jones. If it werent for Darren, Jones may be the best back in the nation. Felix leads the nation in YPC at a whopping 9.1. Now, he is a "change up" back, which means teams dont necassarily mold games around him, they mold it around McFadden. However, he has carried the ball over 120 times this year, which is 10+ carries a ball game.

There are still 3 backs aheqad of Darren in yards this year. Kevin Smith has 500 more years and 14 MORE TD's than Darren does;however, he plays for UCF in C-USA. Funny thing is, UCF is 10-3 and won the conference this year...something Arkansas did NOT do.

Colt Brennan plays for the only team with a perfect record and is the all-time TD throwing leader in the history of NCAA football. Some people say he is a "product of his system". How does this hurt him. He has MASTERED that system and has thrown for over 4000 yds and 38 TD's. Problem is, he plays in Hawaii and most of the voters are on the East Coast and NEVER get to see him play. THe kid has a very precise arm and throws NFL type passes.

What does anyone have to say about Tebow? 20+ TD rushing and passing...nuff said. He is a sophmore though and has another year at least to wow voters.

mcfadden hands down. oklahoma is playing better football right now and more than half those tebow rushing td's could have easily gone to one of the backs. he better start learning how to catch cause i don't see him as an nfl caliber qb. i think dixon would have won it if it wasn't for the injury tho.

Not a NFL QB? He has a great arm, but people tend to look past that becuase of his rushing ability. Its strong and accurate. Not to mention, he is STILL only a sophomore.

If Jake Locker can get his accuracy down like Tebow, look for him to win the Hiesman in the coming years. He rushed for 986 yds and 13 TD's as a freshman this year.

Whether or not ''more than half of those tebow rushing td's could have easily gone to one of the backs'' and him not being ''an nfl caliber qb'' has nothing to do with winning the Heisman. It's use to judge and reward the most outstanding player in the nation; it's not used to predict who will be a star at the next level.

Go Tebow.

BTW, McFadden plays for Arkansas...NOT Oklahoma.
