oh... thought they said it was his ankle, and that they dont know yet, but he may be out until the season starts. if theres something you know that I dont please enlighten me/us.
here it is breh:

Oakland Raiders' Jacoby Ford has foot injury
The Raiders will be perusing the waiver wire in search of wide receivers and return specialists in the wake of another foot injury suffered by Jacoby Ford, coach Dennis Allen said Saturday.

Ford underwent an MRI exam, but Allen said it has yet to be determined how much time he will miss. The injury was to Ford's left foot, just as it was last season when he missed six of the last seven games.

Allen said reports "don't seem to indicate" the injury is significant, but he wasn't ready to proclaim Ford good to go when the season begins Sept. 10 against the San Diego Chargers.

"I don't know the answer to that. Is there a chance? Yeah, there's a chance. We still got to continue to look at it and see what type of time frame we're looking at. "
T
he hope going into the season was that Ford would serve in the rotation of receivers along with Darrius Heyward-Bey and Denarius Moore, and also be the primary return specialist for kickoff and punt returns.
Moore remains out with a hamstring strain, and chances are he won't face Detroit, with the training staff pointing at Week 1 of the regular season for his return.
F
or now, Allen said defensive back Brian McCann moves up in the pecking order on kick and punt returns but noted "that's obviously a position we've got some concern over, and we're going to be evaluating the guys we have here, and we're going to be looking at the rosters of the other 31 teams and see if there's
anyone who becomes available that can help us."

Ford's injury was the most significant arising from a 31-27 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Heyward-Bey (shoulder) and quarterback Matt Leinart (laceration on right index finger) will be monitored this week in practice, but their injuries aren't considered serious.

Running back Mike Goodson, who had some weakness in his shoulders after a hit that caused his second fumble of the game, was examined and cleared. Allen said the injury wasn't related to Goodson's earlier neck injury.
Allen expressed confidence in quarterback Carson Palmer, who threw an interception and missed an open Darren McFadden for a potential touchdown against Arizona.

"I think Carson is still learning this offense," Allen said. "I don't have any reservations or any doubt at all about Carson Palmer."

Perhaps even more impressive than rookie Rod Streater's seven receptions against Arizona was his hustle in running down Kerry Rhodes on a 60-yard return of a Palmer interception.

"It's exceptional, and that's something everybody on this team needs to understand and see, because that's the type of effort that we're going to need to win,'' Allen said.
The Raiders hope to have both running back Taiwan Jones and tight end Brandon Myers on the practice field this week, Allen said. The Raiders will have a no-pads practice Sunday afternoon and will take Monday off.]

I don't like to read too much into preseason games, but the offense doesn't look good. I think there needs to be some power mixed in with the zone, especially in short yardage situations.

when knapp was hired, I made a post saying the defense would probably get better and the offense worse. I'm still hoping I was wrong on that, but things don't look good right now
So far you're right on... you know football, now if you would join the TMT Mayweather's fan club, then you'd know boxing too!

i disagree i still think pryor has a way to go before he is ready to be a starter. plus leinart spent two years in this offense in houston so he is more prepared to step in if palmer goes down.
that's true, but I don't think Matt Leinart is capable of making that type of throw that Pryor threw to Criner on his 2nd TD pass, and Leinart definetly can't make that 58 yard run that Pryor did.

no but if pryor was actually playing against starters i dont think he would have had those cpl of plays. so its really a toss up but i personally think we keep leinart as our 2 for now until pryor gets some more experience under his belt.

it was nice to see pryor go out and make some big plays, but he's definitely still the third string qb. he needs time to develop into a real nfl qb.

taiwan on the other hand, really impressed me. no way he doesn't get the 2 spot behind dmac. dude is the real deal, dat speed. big relief considering goodson's fumbling problems.

lol at palmer being replaced, he'd have to have an epic meltdown through half the season for that to happen.

Might as well put Pryor at 2nd string. Leinart hasn't done shit this preseason and he's been a scrub for his whole NFL career, he was a good QB at USC when he had Reggie Bush with him.

This is basically Pryor's rookie year and he looked solid for a rookie today, they need to put him in there at back up next week against Seattle.no need to waste our time with weak ass Leinart.

starters won't be playing much at all in the next game. wouldn't be surprised if palmer and dmac sat it out completely. so you'll see plenty of both leinart and pryor

I think its safe to say Matt Leinart will no longer be needed as our 2nd string QB.
I think it's safe to say that you're absolutely wrong. Leinart will continue to be our number 2 QB, assuming he's healthy.

TP made some nice plays for sure, but remember he was playing against Detroit's backup defense. and also, he only threw 5 passes in this game. as good as he looked on the 3 passes he completed and those big runs, that's not enough to boost him to the number 2 spot. the guy is still way too raw to be an NFL QB. let's not start acting like crazy Tebow fans or some shit.

another thing you have to remember is Leinart knows this offense better than any QB on the roster. even with Pryor making a few big plays in the Detroit game, I'd still feel WAAY more comfortable with Leinart as our #2

and lmao @ saying Palmer will be sitting on the bench. Dennis All and McKenzie aren't stupid. they know Palmer is the best QB on the roster. if anyone thinks he's not, they don't know football, period.

DHB!! That's why I still have that Crabtree pic. Who's laughing now?
I gotta give you props Tony, DHB looks way better than I expected he ever would. I still don't think he's done enough to prove he is a number 7 (or wherever he was drafted) overall pick, but I think he's slightly better than Crabtree at this point

B @bigbootaewg Veit Philip Wheeler might be most impressive t-camp free agent defensive player since Raiders returned to Oakland.
By Associated Press, Monday, August 27, 6:30 PM

ALAMEDA, Calif. — When he hit the free agent market in the offseason, Philip Wheeler didn’t garner anywhere near the attention his former quarterback with the Indianapolis Colts did.

While the pursuit of Peyton Manning turned into a national soap opera, Wheeler flew under the radar and quietly signed with Oakland (tied for No. 23 in the AP Pro32). So far it’s been one of the best moves made by first-year general manager Reggie McKenzie

Wheeler had five tackles last week against Detroit and has been the Raiders’ most productive linebacker in the preseason in a defense similar to the one he played in college.

“He’s actually provided a little bit more than what I would have anticipated after studying him in Indianapolis,” Oakland coach Dennis Allen said. “But we’re asking him to do a lot of things they didn’t ask him to do there.”

Allen, the Raiders’ first defensive-minded coach since John Madden, and defensive coordinator Jason Tarver scrapped the schemes favored by late owner Al Davis and replaced them with a blitz-heavy concept featuring a variety of coverages in the secondary.

It’s a dramatic but welcomed change from what Wheeler did in Indianapolis, where the defense’s main job was to protect leads built by the Manning-led offense.

There wasn’t much need to blitz, so the Colts kept the concepts basically vanilla.

“I’m doing more than what I was doing with the Colts,” Wheeler said Monday. “We were just trying to hold the lead with Peyton at quarterback. This defense is an attacking, aggressive defense. It’s made for everybody to be able to hang loose and make plays.”

Oakland is trying to improve a unit that was among the NFL’s worst in numerous categories in 2011. The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Wheeler is a key part of that process.

His showing in the preseason not only solidified Wheeler’s status as a starter, it’s also provided a bright spot on a unit facing some serious questions heading into the regular season.

Middle linebacker Rolando McClain is awaiting a jury trial in Alabama after appealing his conviction on assault and gun charges. Aaron Curry, penciled in to be the Raiders other outside linebacker opposite Wheeler, has been sidelined all training camp after undergoing stem cell treatment on his knees in the offseason.

That’s made Wheeler’s work in training camp and the preseason that much more critical.

“As we got him in OTAs and minicamps, you kind of get a feel for what guys can do, and as you go throughout training camp you get a better feel for the things that they do well,” Allen said. “He’s had a good camp for us and we expect him to produce when the regular season starts.”

Wheeler, a third-round draft pick in 2008, compares the Raiders’ defense to the one he played at Georgia Tech.

That, and the chance to play full-time after being a spot starter with the Colts, was one of the main reasons he signed with Oakland in April after meeting with McKenzie.

“It’s a lot of the same responsibilities, same techniques, same coverages,” Wheeler said. “In college I blitzed all the time. I feel like this is the same way. The coaches have shown confidence in us by allowing us to do some of these packages they have. I was itching to play behind some guys like this.”

this right here is a great FA signing too. we need help badly on kickoff and punt returns. roscoe gives us that and intel on the dolts for week 1

Cut by Chargers earlier in the day, WR/KR Roscoe Parrish agrees to terms with Raiders, per league source.
The Raiders have addressed their problems in the return game by agreeing to terms with former San Diego Chargers receiver Roscoe Parrish on Monday night, according to Profootballtalk.com
Raiders officials would not confirm nor deny the report.
Oakland's return game has struggled throughout the preseason and training camp, in part because of a foot injury suffered by wide receiver Jacoby Ford, who has missed the last 10 days of practice. Ford was out of a protective boot but not practicing Monday.
Parrish, signed by San Diego as a free agent after seven seasons with Buffalo, was released by the Chargers in the cut to 75 players.
In seven seasons with the Bills, Parrish had 135 punt returns for 1,662 yards (12.0 yards per return) and three touchdowns and 29 kickoff returns for 685 yards (23.6 yards per return) and no scores.
When asked Monday if the Raiders' Week 1 return specialist on either kickoffs or punts was not yet on the roster, coach Dennis Allen said, "That's a possibility. We'll go through everybody and we're going to see who's out there, and if there's somebody that we feel like gives us a chance to win, we're going to try and get him."

so now we got a little bit of a seasoned wide out to fill in that vet spot people saying we need. and if he can return kicks thatd be great, cause our special teams have looked awful this preseason
