Actually looks like that Steinberg interview with NPR was from earlier this month. This one from today with Earl is really good and puts a lot of insight into the album...

Earl Sweatshirt: 'I'm Grown' : Microphone Check : NPR

can either watch the video, listen to the audio, or read the transcript.

Also listening to this on the walk to work yesterday with headphones on really gave another level to a lot of the production, really digging it a lot after a few listens through now.

Man I haven't listened to OF in a minute, has their material matured any? That was the main reason I stopped listening to them. It was cool at first but Tyler's crazy shit kind of wore off for me. I'm getting old thats probably why.

Well Wolf was definitely a more mature Tyler. still had moments of him acting silly, but Wolf is something that people should have payed more attention to. people saying Bastard is the best thing he's done is still stuck in the early days. been waiting on something new from him. Is that Sam gonna be a album or just random tracks? because i havent read anything about that

I like the arraignments, composition, and sequencing on it. Honestly nobody is really fucking with Tyler when it comes to that especially in hip hop. Some of the sounds and elements he chooses to use to make his beats leave a lot to be desired though for sure. Dude is always going to do some NERD worship though which is pretty apparent with Deathcamp.

Diggin' Fucking Young though (no chree) and although I'm not much of a fan of either it's crazy dude was able to get Kanye and Wayne on the same track on this album.

Anyways it drops at 9pm looking forward to checking it out when I get home from work.

kind of lame he made a NERD album instead of his own shit. You could already tell from his music that he was influenced by them, he didn't need to make a whole album trying to sound just like them.
