Well I can honestly say I dont know what Rob Ryan was thinkin using nickel packages to open the game knowin LT was gonna run the ball most of the time and SD took advantage of that as they should've so that is not playin like shit. In the second half the Raiders D came out ready for the run and stopped it...in the past couple of the seasons they wouldn't have, even if they came out expecting it.

McNair had one of the shittiest games of his career. You're a fool if you think the raider D is solely responsible for that.

When facing any other team, it's playing like shit. Against the raiders, they played well. But in game #1, with an untested QB, everyone knew what was coming. Almost every team would have planned to stop the run. It doesn't matter how good the RB is, if the whole team is planning on him getting the ball he will get stuffed. The raiders couldn't hack it and they were probably the only team in the league that would have given up that many rushing yards knowing what was coming. If SD had played someone else in the opener, they would have lost. I'm not discrediting the Chargers, but in that particular game they were bound to get stomped because of their situation.. They're lucky they got Oakland.

And the D is partially to blame, but McNair has to accept just as much of the blame. He was terrible. The raider D is nothing special and you know it.

I've said the before the season started that the Ravens would win their division because of the arrival of Steve McNair. The Ravens are an elite team. They're currently ranked 2nd in defense and has only given up 6 points in two games. Your Niners are playing much better but they would get smashed fuckin' around with the Ravens. McNair didn't look his best against the Raiders, but give the Raider D credit for making him look that way! Warren Sapp came through with 2 sacks, one of our linebackers picked him off and the Raider D is ranked like 10th overall in the leage. McNair picked the Bucs d apart. He didn't do too well against the Raiders D. Give the Raider D some credit and stop hatin'. We just get hit by some big runs here and there.

And don't get all excited just because the Niners beat the Rams. Y'all beat them last year and still didn't do jack shit. Now I will admit that your team is playing better overall as a team especially Alex Smith. But don't sit here and keep dogging the Raiders just because the Niners got a victory. It's only week 2. Wait until our teams face off in the regular season.

I haven't seen Denver play this year, but my guess would be that your team is having offensive line problems too, maybe not as bad as the Raiders but you can't put all the blame on Plummer. No Ashlie Lelie and Rod Smith is getting up there in age. Who else does Plummer have to throw to? Javon Walker? He's not the same receiver he was in Green Bay because Favre used to just throw it up even in double coverage and Walker would come down with it. Plummer doesn't have the arm strength to do that nor will he take chances like that in Mike's system.

Oh believe me it's more the o-line then anyone...but there have been tons of dropped passes, bad throws by plummer, fumbles by the rb's...IT'S THE WHOLE OFFENSE!

Denver's offense has did the same thing's you are talking about to it's defemse but the denver d still has yet to give up a td, and in the rams game when rams had the ball on our side of the field almost all day they still only gave up fg's to keep them in the game.

So lets see, denver is 6th in least points against, Okland 28th....same problems on offense but don't tell me the d is fine!

Your defense has given up 55 points. It doesn't matter what position the offense puts them in, if they really were "tight" they wouldn't be giving up that many points. Why don't they force field goals? "Tight" Ds don't allow TDs all the damn time. Get real and face the facts.

Both, and I'll tell you why..

Last year the Niners beat the Rams twice, but neither of those times was pretty. IMO the Rams should have won both those games. But this time the Niners got their offense going. You saw the Rams D against the Broncos. Different story against SF. They're performing well out there, but the Rams didn't look hot offensively even with all their weapons. I wouldn't attribute that totally to the Niner D, the Rams just sucked balls last week.

So like I said, it was a combination of both.
