Its not Amerikkas Most or Death Certificate quality, but it's in the area of Predator and Lethal Injection. In trying to keep up to date with his beats, I feel his selection was off a little, but the lyrics are on point. Some people must not really be listening to what he's saying.

I wasn't feeling some of his westside connection shit, because that shit was all gangsta, which we know Cube is much more than that. If anything, that was the studio gangsta shit that people should be complaining about.

This album touched on real topics in that Cube way...right up in your mug, straight with it. Not a weak album, and it wouldn't have been the first either, I thought War and Peace was mostly garbage.

cube is in a class of his own. even if his music wanes. he's one of the founders of the west coast starting from the underground he helped blow the top of this movement. he can make music and make big budget films... my bro made a good point about him and you can say it for a few of these west coast legends like dre. they got money up the ass but you won't find them on shows like cribs showing off. he got game for days you can see it in his lyrics. my real problem with this album is the beat selection. it's not his lyrics at all. anyway for yall that thought i was hating on cube it was never that.

Ay patnah, normally, I would have a rational discussion about music with you, but I know that you are that faggot WattsUp. Guess you haven't learned how to behave, because you keep getting your bitch ass banned. Reply if you must, but I'm done.

Poor child, it must be tough getting bounced from foster home to foster home. The only friends he has live in a monitor. From now on..everytime I see a Jerry's Kids poster I'll think of him and donate some cash flow to the cause.

It's alright, just not really feelin most of the beats. Some of these beats just don't represent what true SoCal WestCoast beats should sound like.

I'm feeling beats like:

02 Why We Thugs
03 Smoke Some Weed
07 Doin' What It 'Pose 2Do
08 Laugh Now, Cry Later
13 Growin' Up
19 Spittin' Pollaseeds

IMHO, only tracks 2, 3, 7 & 19 represent true WestCoast beats.

I bet "Smoke Some Weed" is going to be a big hit.

Yup, I agree w/ you about LAUGH NOW, CRY LATER. The only songs that I wasn't really feeling were "Go To Church" and "You Gotta Lotta That", mostly because the production didn't do it for me (although Snoop sounds pretty cool on both songs). But yeah, the rest of the CD hits a lot more bulls-eyes than either WAR or PEACE--both of those had a few dope songs ("Ghetto Vet", "Extradition", "3 Strikes You In", "Waitin' To Hate") but there was just too much shit on both of those CDs where Cube didn't sound like he was even trying ("Limos, Demos and Bimbos" and "Can You Bounce?" were just plain laughable). But LNCL is way better than I expected. I was ready to count him out, but Cube can still do it!

PEACE!

Can You Bounce knocked, every track damn near on War and Peace wuz raw....
 that whole album was an embarrasment to Cube and his fans. That album should eternally burn in hell compared to everything he dropped before that. It didnt take a genius to listen to that and come to the conclusion that he made that album tryin to follow trends instead of bein the one who was settin trends like he did before.

Yeah I didnt like War and Peace albums Cube wasnt focused on them two joints I remember when I bought them back in the late 90's and was disappointed now them two albums sounded commercial. But this new one is tight. Just listen to the lyrics on all the tracks he spitting facts and sending a message also he dissed a few rappers Can anyone name who he dissed? I know Dubb dissed D4L on Spittin Polley Seeds

Cube dissed Flavor Flav on "The Nigga Trap", but I'll have to wait to buy the CD next week to remember if there was anyone else he dissed (besides Mack 10 on "Click-Clack--Get Back!").

But yeah, Cube wasn't focused when he did WAR & PEACE--on WAR, he was trying to get on that Rock-Rap thing ("Fuck Dying" w/ Korn) and the song "War & Peace" interpolated No Doubt's "Don't Speak." Also, a friend of mine listened to WAR when I played it for him back in '99, and he said: "it sounds like Cube's trying to get the Gothic and Industrial fans, w/ the cover/CD booklet imagery and w/ the 'European' sound of some of the tracks." It wasn't what folks wanted to hear from Cube, I'll tell you that. As for PEACE...I don't know...it sounded like Cube was trying to go for some weird hybrid of L.A. Gangsta sounds and (like the CD booklet said) Dance/Club-type stuff.

The funny thing is, I remember that when that WAR & PEACE were first announced in '97, Cube described them as being more concept-like...he said that WAR would be hardcore-type songs, and that PEACE would be more "conscious." Neither CD really did turn out that way...I wonder if Priority put pressure on Cube to make the CDs more commercial and maybe wouldn't let him put them out the way he wanted them--after all, both of them got pushed back a whole bunch of times. But yeah, I like what I've heard on the new one (LN, CL), and I'll definitely cop it next week. Hope Cube does well w/ this one...PEACE!
