I remember that shit!
but north richmond is wild. Them narfers be outta control. i remember goin down there to get a dub sack, i seen a young ass nigga (probably like 15) wit a chop just standin in front of the complex like it was just a super soaker or somethin. he was out there watchin out for somebody and directin traffc and shit. i used to love deliverin pizza out there tho cuz them niggas either give you beer, or a fat ass tip cuz most niggas is too scary to deliver down there and they want you to keep comin back.

Really real. The city still hasnt begun to recoup since the riot in the early 90's, but that was just icing on the cake. My job requires me to travel to almost every city in the South/East/North bay and every type of neighborhood.
There are only two or three "areas" that i go to that I feel I HAVE to be ON POINT just driving through. And thats areas of North/South Richmond and East Oakland. The fact that i go through these neighborhoods as a white boy with a shaved head with a newer model car with chrome rims and taking pictures of peoples houses might add a little more attention than the average joe, but the bottom line is my kids arnt growing up there.... :dead:

Born and raised in Richmond. South Richmond. South 37th...rightnext to the manor. Had funk with the manor niggas back in the day. I think everybody has sories about growin up in a crazy place. But when you live there, you dont really think about it like that. Our group "PaperTrail productions" is mainly from Richmondd.

I would say the city is a crazy little town, but its gettin better. I grew up in the Iron Triangle and I probably didnt see any more madness than people from other places. I dont think we had a monopoly on it. I was 7when I saw a dude get his head basically blown OFF by a gauge. But I bet you people in Oakland could tell you the same thing. Feel me. I got love for the Rich though,always will. It is ok to grow up there UNLESS you are in the streets. If you are in them streets...it is a muthafucka. But if you just be a normal kid... you'll SEE a lot, your schools are worth shit.... but you'll have your life. The hard part is growing up and being the ONLY boy from your Elementary class that isnt 6 feet or in somebody's "sing-sing". The only other dude is this kid that is in the wheelchair and be beggin for money at 7-11. Handicapped. That used to be my lil nig., casualties of a lifestyle... but that's everywhere.
Dj Sham and Dj Doe used to be in a group with Cool-E called "North Side" or "North-Sidaz" some shit like that. Two North Richmond Cats (It was also this dude named Bugaloo) and one South Side Nigga. It was pretty cool. They came out with a tape or two and then Sham went out to LA and started fuckin with Eazy E.
But overall, Richmond is a muthafucka.

DAMN! I almost forgot. The reason North Richmond is the worst part of the bay is very simple. It is unincorporated.
Most people don't know this, but its crucial info to understanding the game out here. The city is not a city, and they are not fully incorporated into richmond. WHy is that important.
THEY HAVE NO POLICE. THEY HAVE NO FIRE DEPARTMENT. Take that back, there is a little fire station on Pennsylvania right before you cross them tracks... but for the most parts,you are onyour own. That's what makes it like the wild west out there. North IS a muthafucka. North, SouthSide, and Central Richmond are major hoods, but north is the worst because they dont have no police.
Cops gotta come from Richmond Proper to deal with shit outthere. All they got is a sherriff. SHERRIFF!!!
Now that being said, in my younger more foolish days, my brother had been stabbed (almost killed) and I was looking for the cat. Put the word out on this dude. He was hidin. Found out where he was sittin, waited in the cut and before he came to his apartment in North, the Sherriff was there and arrested him. The "sheriff" stopped me from probably makin the biggest mistake of my life, so I can't say their sherrif is useless, but they mostly only work on tips. If somebody is given up by the locals, the Sheriff will pounce, but other than that.... they are basically useless.
Surrounded by train tracks, plenty of backstreets, no police, and a steady supply of narcotics... its basehead heaven over there.
On our album, "Ice-Cold Heat" I think the City of Richmond is represented to the fullest. We took off two songs that were rep songs (City of Rich, by Sham) and (They Way of Life, by Detrimental) that were hella cool. We decided to put these two songs on from this kid that got murdered out in Oakland. Tryin to pay respects to his life. But maybe I'll post some audio of the other songs for yall to hear the music comin out the Rich.
