Personally, they can't. I know it's hard enough in America, but if you have none of the above, theres no way people outside of America are gonna hear of you. I know we're not your target audience (most bay artists would probably only sell 1% or less of their albums overseas), but you need to try and hook up with someone - when it comes to selling big overseas, it's who your down with and features thats gonna sell albums because we're all sheep over here (I'm NOT including myself in that category). In Adelaide (my home town in Australia), you can only find the occasional Yukmouth, Spice 1, Mac Dre and C-Bo albums. I was able to pick up Bluez Brothers, just because it was a 'C-Bo presents' album. You could bring out the worst track of all time, and as long as it features some talentless rapper like 50 cent, it'll make the charts here.
You need something to get your name out there a mixtape,single,flyers,posters,promotion. I didnt do none of that shit when I put out my first artist and we didnt do well. Next time around im sending promotion press kits to 1000 college radio stations. I heard if your song gets in heavy rotation at a college radio station. Main stram radio station will try and pic it up also. Maybe so maybe not but im a try feel me. In this game u gotta take chances.

do some promo cd's.an EP,4 or 5 songs with cover and all.pass the mothafuckas out.dont expect to profit off that but when your album comes out you should already have a small fan bae with guarentee sales............other then that,with that money ya'll usin for the album your better off investing in something else...............ya'll might think your the shit and your better then most out right now,but EVERYBODY does,and everybody aint makin no money...........

JT is a bad example.he came up in a totally different time.it was work for him to get heard but he didnt have everybody and there mothers competing for the consumers money.everybody wants to rap and everybodys puttin somethin out.its easy to get lost in the shuffle...........back then when you went to the store to pick up an artist from northern california,there wasnt that big of a selection,but there was enough.now,theres too much,most of'em are wack.when you get a wack mothafucka droppin an album you got the next guy sayin "i can do that",then he does that.thats where we are today.this aint '95.we're 10 years and a million rappers pass that................
as far as your 2nd comment,"everybody" has talent.i aint sayin in no way that dude aint got talent but be real here,everybody who is tryna do this rap shit thinks they have somethin that others dont,and 99.9% really dont.everybody has that mentality,its good for them but not good if "you" are tryna do somethin............
i hope Lil Rebel does do what he's tryna do and be succesful at it,but be realistic.i know ya'll young,dont let the dream of being a rapper and making a career out of it stop you from pursuing other things that will make you some real doe when your older............
I feel what yall is sayin...im rappin and makin beats right now and trying to make it in this game but on the other side scince im so young i gotta set myself up for other stuff...im still goin to school...gonna go to college and have a back up plan...but i will still be rappin cause i have a passion for it...it is in my blood
