In all honesty, i think he bit off more than he could chew. Sure, the game sounds amazing but pulling that off? Clearly not a reality.

Should he have pulled back? Yes. It sounds like this game will evolve with updates, but thats why people are so angry...they wanted what he showed right out of the box.

Too ambitious for essentially like 6 guys (at their peak they were like 14 people but half of them aren't designing the game).

The concept is awesome but this is something that needs to be taken on by a massive studio not a tiny indy team.

And of course hype vs reality. If no one knew about this game and it just one day came out, people would probably praise it. But instead it's been 2+ years of anticipation and disappointment at the features that aren't in the game and what you can't do that they (Sean Murray) originally said you could do. I think they were working on a vastly different game two years ago but gradually scaled it down and less and less stuff they original talked about remained.
