I was bumping West Coast Trippin' Vol. 1 today. Haven't played it in about a year. I use 2 own No Face Killaz but lost it in starage hella years ago & plan on copping it again. No Face Killaz & West Coast Trippin' are the best comps Black Market & Awol ever released.

So which are the best. Discuss. Personally I think No Face Killaz is better. It had better songs but West Coast Trippin' had the better concept cuz they had all the artist working together instead of them dropin one or 2 solo tracks each.

I think the comparison comes from the fact that both labels started out in the same city & became 2 powerhouses in underground rap.

There were a few labels that started out in Sac but none could be compared 2 Awol or BMR even to this day. Also No Face Killaz was the one comp that really showcased the entire BM roster. The samething as Awol & the West Coast Trippin' album.

The music on both sides were different. Awol was mostly Mob shit & BM was dark sinister shit with a gangsta twist. I loved them both. Both of these CD's came out the same year & I think the comparison of the 2 CD's is pretty fair. 1998 was Awols biggest year ever. Freddie T had to had made a fortune that year from all them releases cuz all of them were fire.

No Face had too many skipable tracks. I never really felt any of the Black Market comps.....except for those best of ones. Lynch and Raided were the only talented artists on Black Market. Those comps should of had more Lynch and more X Raided and less Tripple Beam, less Doc, less PCO, and just less trash filler songs.



Awol had a gang of tight niggas most of the shit they dropped was tight. They had better producers.... they just had that real mob sound.

West coast trippin was one of my least favorite AWOL releases....

When they was droppin shit like Tales from the Crypt, Mr.Mafiosso,A Million Words a Million Dollers, and shit like that West Coast Trippin just wasnt up to par with those albums.

I was never a super huge fan of No Face Killaz either but I would still chose it over West Coast Trippin.

I dont know those two album just cant compare to the shit AWOL and BMR were droppin back then. To me they were far from the best they had to offer....

NO ONE SAID IT WAS THE BEST...ACTUALLY IT WAS THE FIRST SET OF SONGS WE DID TOGETHER...I WAS COMING BACC FROM OHIO...I DIDN'T REALLY KNOW ANY OF THE ARTISTS SO I FEEL IT WAS A GOOD EFFORT...WE HAD 11 ARTISTS & WERE ALL PUT IN THE STUDIO 4 A MONTH & THAT'S WHAT WE MADE HAPPEN & OF COURSE IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE HISTORY THERE'S NO WAY YOU CAN APPRECIATE IT 4 WHAT IT WAS...THE SOLO ALBUMS WERE TIGHT BECUZ OF THE CREATIVE CONTROL WHICH WAS GIVEN 2 THE ARTIST...WCT1 WAS THE FIRST SONGS RECORDED SO OF COURSE EVERYBODY GOT BETTER & MORE COMFORTABLE WITH EACH OTHER AS TIME PROGRESSED
