Just wondering what kind of movies you guys do like? Because the only people I've talked to outside of here that didn't like it (which is 3 people out of about 20) are ones who go more for flash in movies (IE; 300, Transformers) then substance (IE; The Assassanation of Jesse James, Rescue Dawn.)

I liked it because I thought it had a great story line and the acting was top notch. I don't want to say anything because some people might still want to check it out but I can see how some people could not like the ending of the film. I like stuff like that though because a lot of people when they watch a movie want some kind of closer or that the good guys come out on top in the end. This movie doesn't give you that. Plus some parts were funny as hell IMO. I just picked up the book yesterday so I'll see if the movie lived up to it.

that seems to be the new thing since sopranos finale

but honestly endings like that are indicative of real life.

In real life shit isnt always cut and dry at the end of a chapter

a movie with a nice beginning, pulls you in by the middle and leaves you with a satisfying feeling at the end.that movie had a good beginning and that was it....

I'm still going to check it out. I typically hate popular movies and I am a fan of directors more than anything else, good acting second.

yep. the cinematography was tight too. from what I read the Coen Brothers shot this movie almost scene for scene with the book
Yeah the Cinematography was great too. If you want to check out some of the best cinematography of the year Jar check out he Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
