@Essqubed - naw, the head images are stock, the girls supply there own portfolio shots.
I have worked out a deal with spinster to set me up with any girls who need a portfolio done, so looking forward to that. Any suggestions as far as lighting?

I normally use natural lighting & surprisingly overcast days supply the best lighting because they warm up colour & don't bleach out parts of your photos.

If you do your own lighting just make sure you light your subject from all possible angles, usually from the side & at an angle from the front & use backlighting (putting a light behind the model & having it shine at the back of the head) for an added touch...it helps to make the hair shine around the edges without bleaching it out.

& Oh yeah...for portrait shots I normally prefer an aperture of 6-8 to give a nice DOF & of course always focus on the eyes so they are nice & sharp. Don't be afraid to use your flash outside to help eliminate shadows & also to provide "catch light" in the eyes. Hope that helps.

Regards

@Essqubed - thanks for the tips, its crazy how a lot of that stuff makes sense, but would easily be overlooked with out pointing it out. I was checking out zuga.net for some glamour tips, they have some instructional videos on there, you summed up about 20 mins of stupid videos.
What are some econnmical setups for studio lighting? any experience with that?
