:siccness: Eidos announced details of the "classic" hip hop tracks featured in its upcoming hip hop rap game, Get On Da Mic.

The Get On Da Mic soundtrack will feature a deep set of tracks to choose from. Gamers can lay down rhymes to classic rap tracks from the early days of hip hop that were originally performed by artists such as the Sugar Hill Gang and Sir Mix A Lot.

Then switch gears to the "Gangster Rap" era with tracks originally performed by artists such as Public Enemy, Dr. Dre and Tupac...

The game has been developed by Artificial Mind & Movement (A2M) in partnership with Highway 1 Productions. Get on Da Mic boasts a robust soundtrack including 40 tracks originally made popular by the hottest names in hip hop.

Gamers can go from rags to riches in the story mode or pass the mic with friends in the multiplayer mode. Get On Da Mic will be available for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and Xbox game system from Microsoft. Get On Da Mic for the PlayStation2 is scheduled to ship this October in North America and Europe with the Xbox version to follow in early 2005.

"Finally a music performance game that captures the essence of rap music and the hip-hop lifestyle. Get on Da Mic combines songs originally made famous by classic hip-hop legends such as Sir Mix-A-Lot, Tupac and Dr. Dre with today’s hottest tracks that are sure to impress even the most avid hip-hop fans" says Chip Blundell, Global Brand Director at Eidos Inc.
