Raiders get Troy Hambrick and David Terrell
More the people the better the competition.

RB Troy Hambrick was the leading rusher for the Dallas Cowboys last season.

The Oakland Raiders have signed two young NFL veteran free agents - running back Troy Hambrick and defensive back David Terrell.
Hambrick was the leading rusher for the Dallas Cowboys last season and ranked eighth in the NFC in rushing with 972 yards on 275 carries in 2003. He had three 100-yard rushing games last season and tied for the team lead in touchdowns with five.

The 6-1, 235-pound Hambrick has started 27 out of 51 regular season games and totaled 1,896 yards rushing with eight touchdowns and 42 receptions for 260 yards in four pro seasons, all with the Cowboys.

Hambrick first entered the NFL in 2000 after earning a roster spot on the Cowboys as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Savannah State. In 2001, he saw action at both running back and fullback and finished third among NFL running backs with a 5.1 yards per carry average.

The 27-year old Hambrick, whose brother, Darren also played in the NFL, has shown his prowess on special teams, placing second in the Cowboys in special teams tackles with 17 in 2002.

Terrell, 28, has spent all four of his NFL seasons with the Redskins and has posted 188 tackles and six interceptions.

Terrell, 28, has spent all four of his NFL seasons with the Redskins and has posted 188 tackles and six interceptions while playing defensive back and on special teams. He has played in 61 regular season games with 32 starts.

Last season, Terrell appeared in 13 league games for the Redskins and tied his career high in interceptions with two while adding 12 special teams tackles.

In 2001 and '02, Terrell started all 16 games for the Redskins. In '02, Terrell recorded 76 tackles while forcing two fumbles while in '01, he posted 93 tackles with a sack. He saw action in all 16 league games for the Redskins in 2000, finishing third on the team in special teams tackles with 17. Terrell was a seventh round selection by Washington in 1998 out of the University of Texas-El Paso.

Hambrick is weak...i don't know why they picked him up...wheatley will be good in this system because he will be running right to the tackles...lets just hope thats all he runs to though because he can't turn a corner for shit...zereoue will get more touches than hambrick that's for sure...weak pick up though!! terrel l will be a decent addition to the already stacked DB positions...will rotate in the nickel...depending on what r wood decides to do, and where r buchanon is going to play...imo c wood should move to strong...he lost a step on the outside but is still one of the hardest hitting corners in the league...

I agree with Cwood moving to the safety positon. I've been feeling that for the past couple of seasons, as far as Hambrick, he is a waste of a pick up and so is zereoue, i would just have wheatley and fargas take on the load along with crockett, shit dont forget crockett could run shit also, just like he did against KC in the rain, he had more rushing yards than wheat that nite.

May 19, 2004

The Raiders have signed veteran defensive end Bobby Hamilton.

The Oakland Raiders have signed veteran defensive end Bobby Hamilton. Hamilton, who recently played for the New England Patriots helping them win two Super Bowls (XXXVI and XXXVIII), has played in 118 league games with 74 starts in nine NFL seasons. He led the Patriots with a career-high seven sacks during their 2001 Super Bowl run.
The 6-5, 285-pound Hamilton has totaled 335 tackles, 16 sacks, four fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and one interception since entering the NFL in 1994. He led all defensive linemen in tackles in 2000 with 79.

The Columbia, Mississippi native played the past four seasons with New England after joining the Patriots as a free agent in 2000. He spent the previous four seasons (1996-99) with the New York Jets. In 1995, he was in the Seattle Seahawks training camp before being released. Hamilton signed as a rookie free agent with Seattle in 1994 and was placed on injured reserve during the preseason.

Last season, Hamilton started in all 16 league games for the Patriots finishing with 46 total tackles and three passes defensed.

A four-year letterman and two-year starter at Southern Mississippi, Hamilton finished his collegiate career with 173 tackles, 18 sacks and 18 tackles for loss. In his senior season he led the team in sacks with eight, two shy the school record.

Hamilton attended East Marion High School in Columbia, Mississippi where he lettered in football, basketball, baseball and track.
