i think comps have lacked an original concept for years now... everytime i go to a record shop (its been rare these days), every cheesy cover that does too much to grab your attention only says one thing to me, it's another artist or label tryin to make a quick buck off a big name feature or two, no real quality music behind it...it might be a stereotype / misconception but no bay comp as of late as proved me wrong.

I agree that comps have lacked original concept. With that being said, the album covers have been getting better and better. Best example is Balance's CD, that album package was awesome. Just make good music to match the cover that isn't recycled. It's as simple as that.

Check out the new double comp "Known Associates 2 / Theme Music To Drug Dealins and Killins" from Apt.3/DNA Ent and Apt.4 Productions to see how a classic compilation is made...

I don't mean to toot my own horn here but BEEP BEEP

Multiple tracks from Cougnut and C-Fresh (IMP), San Quinn, 11/5, UNLV, Cold World, Totally Insane...

Never before heard collabs like Woodie ( RIP ) and 11/5, or C-Fresh, Tony Francis of Young D Boyz and Ad Kapone of Totally Insane

Beats by Frisco legends that invented the classic comp like TC, The Enhancer, Laidblack, DJ Mark 7, Big Drawz...

Reuniting classic groups such as 11/5 ( all 3 members on a TC beat, 2 different songs ), Totally Insane and GLP ( one track features JT, Quinn, Seff, Ive Low and D-Moe )...

Plus a much needed Cougnut tribute.

What else is needed? Be out real soon.

some comps are made in 2 days. some fool just gathers up trax from every known and semi known artist in their lil black book. i comps that have diversity on them. they dont always gotta have the biggest names (40, keak, mess and so on), but they need to have dope trax thru the whole album. put together 15 or 16 tight ass trax from tight ass rappers and you'll have the winning formula every time.

WHO PUT OUT TRUNK FOOD
trunk food was put out by indecent and krypto and had nothin but slaps all the way thru. indo produced every track. and ya boy dj pimp hooked them up with several tight drops from some of ya favorite rappers. all and all it was an outstanding record.

yo balance, indecent just called me and he wants to chop it up with u about some projects. he also wanted to thank you again for hookin him and AP.9 up with the record release party at rasputins. he aint near a computer now, but he's gonna holla asap. u need to fuck with some of those indecent slaps. he's shittin on just about everyone right now. he got mega slapz

and one of the best cats on here who spits some serious shit is Tha Critic. there's a lot of tight rappers and or producers on bart.
