I think that (production wise) that G-Unit shit is slappin. If it was say a Cellski or a Messy Marv over those same tracks the nay sayers would love this shit. I ain't the biggist 50 fan, but I ain't gone hate on dude. The album is solid and solid is a shit load better the most of the shit comin out in the rap game today.
Real spit... fools oh here would be like, "Mang, that whole CD is knockin', instant classic, (insert Bay artist here) came way too sick this time, the Bay is gonna blow the fuck up this time, fa sho." But put G-Unit or Jay-Z on the same shit and it's " Dawg, fuck the mainstream MTV East Coast shit", knowin' damn well most Bay artists would kill for just a fraction of that SoundScan. Don't get me wrong, Bay rap will always be my first love and the radio does focus too much on the East and South and bullshit songs, but the hating is ridiculous.
I was at Best Buy here in Frisco yesterday to get the Jigga and G-Unit albums and both of them albums were selling like hotcakes. They were sold out of the Jay-Z by the time I left. Meanwhile, the Keaks and Too Shorts and Mac Dres were overflowing on the racks. Folks then wonder why the Bay ain't doing well. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL ARTISTS THEN... shit.
That being said, the albums are OK...
Jay-Z - 7/10 - not the classic I expected, no bonus songs, didn't have the "12 dream producers", no Pete Rock, Dre or Primo, but at least 8 songs are real tight, the Quik and Timbaland beats are sick, and the black CD concept is kinda creative.
G-Unit - 6.5/10 - a few too many love songs, but the production is well-done & knocks, lyrics are average, still gotta listen to it again, if a Bay artist flowed on these tracks, muthafuckas on here would proclaim him the secong coming.
And by the way, it's "wack", not "whack" like whacking off like the j- cats hating on V-Boy and G-Unit. LOL!
