I guess the Pacers and Raptors have reach an agreement....

Pacers get: T.J. Ford and the 17th pick

Raptors get: Jermaine O'Neal

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...jermaineonealtraded062508&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
Damn indy just to dump Jeramine and his huge contract. And this is basically the best they can get at this point. Next they will probably move either Tinsely or Ford. They are just breaking it down and gonna try and rebuild. But Indiana fucked up big time. They should pulled the trigger on a deal of JO a long time ago. 1-2 years ago atleast. They waited and let this nigga's stock keep plumitting until the best deal they could get was ford and mid 1st round? lol Remember when niggas was talking JO in deals almost as big as KG.

but this could be a big deal a couple of years from for the Raptors. They already got Calderon so losing Ford aint a big deal. This could be a very scary team to face. But snap back to reality JO has missed on avg 31 games a season for the last 4 years. And he has a bad knee. I just don't see him staying healthy

mane what up with the knicks it looks like they are going to fuck up this year draft Why would you want Westbrook? I understand the defense and all, but with D' Antoni as coach, he's going to want to add a player that is more of a pure point guard and a good passer. Westbrook isn't that guy and may never be that guy. I don't see how he'll fit in with what the Knicks want to do. I can see why people say he'll be a bench player.

And if the plan is to eventually get Lebron, wouldn't Bayless be a better player to play alongside him?

Yep...Westbrook is a solid player, but no more than a good sixth man on 9/10 of the teams in the league.

posted it in the Blazers thread but sense theres a thread for this.....

NEW YORK – The Portland Trail Blazers have intensified discussions with the New Jersey Nets about moving up into the 10th pick of the NBA draft with intentions of taking Texas point guard D.J. Augustin, league sources told Yahoo! Sports on Wednesday.

The Blazers would send the 13th and 33rd picks in Thursday’s draft, along with guard Jarrett Jack, to the Nets. New Jersey also would send guard Trenton Hassell to the Blazers.

Portland GM Kevin Pritchard had been counting on beating out Indiana for Augustin, but the Pacers likely no longer have that great a need for Augustin after agreeing in principle to trade Jermaine O’Neal to Toronto for point guard T.J. Ford, center Rasho Nesterovic and the No. 17 pick.

Nevertheless, one Western Conference executive warned that he believed Charlotte could make Augustin, the 5-foot-10 point guard, a surprise choice at No. 9.

Portland has had discussions with several teams about moving up in the draft, but a deal with the Nets appears to the strongest possibility now.

As long as the New York Knicks pass on Danilo Gallinari at No. 6, the Nets still believe the Italian forward could be there for them at No. 13. If not, they’d hope one of the Lopez brothers – Brook or Robin – slide down to them. Nets GM Kiki Vandeweghe is intrigued with West Virginia forward Joe Alexander, too.

What’s more, with the 33rd pick, the Nets could get a late first round-caliber big man who slips into the second round, such as Indiana’s D.J. White. Sources said New Jersey already has targeted Memphis center Joey Dorsey with the 40th pick.

This possible trade would throw Indiana’s plans of taking Augustin into a tizzy, although the Pacers have thought long and hard about choosing a forward in the 11th spot. If the four guards – Augustin, Westbrook, Jerryd Bayless and Eric Gordon – are off the board, the Pacers could end up taking LSU’s Anthony Randolph.

As usual, Pritchard has been aggressive around the draft. With the endless resources of his owner, Paul Allen, behind him, Pritchard purchased the 27th pick from the New Orleans Hornets for $3 million. They likely will use that late pick to draft an international big man who wouldn’t immediately join them in the NBA.

Knicks better not get Lopez!

FUCK THAT SHIT

If Tinsley could stay healthy for an entire season for once I would LOVE to see him come back home to NY and play with the Knicks, dude is an assist machine when healthy.

Im biased here but I think the Knicks should go with Chalmers at 6, dude has the best defense out of all the PGs in this draft byfar let alone the best outside shot out of all of them aswell...I've watched all his games at Kansas and he would fit in perfectly with D'Antoni's offense. And we all know hes clutch as fuck too.

I can't wait for tomorrow, I know there is going to be alot of movement going on and I hope my Knicks finally take that first step back to respectability!

why not though? Knicks need a PG and he is a better option then Augustine IMO, and i've watched alot of his games too since im in Big 12 country. Chalmers has slowly been climbing up the draft board as of late aswell and is a bonafide winner too. Knicks could use all the players like that they can get.

Sources say Heat looking to trade out of No. 2, take guard later

the Miami Heat's recent activities are any indication, they are not going to select Kansas State forward Michael Beasley with the No. 2 pick in Thursday's NBA draft.

With the first selection, the Chicago Bulls are leaning strongly toward drafting Memphis point guard Derrick Rose. While the Bulls say they won't announce their decision until draft night, Bulls GM John Paxson admits that Chicago is "probably leaning a certain way."

ESPN.com has been reporting since the draft lottery that Heat president Pat Riley has reservations about Beasley. While Beasley is a talent, Riley seems to be uncomfortable with his personality and seems dead set on finding a point guard to pair in the backcourt with Dwyane Wade.

To that end, Riley staged two separate secret workouts in Miami on Tuesday. The first, a source told ESPN.com, was for Arizona point guard Jerryd Bayless. The second was for USC guard O.J. Mayo, who confirmed to ESPN.com that he worked out for the team.

Michael Beasley had a monster freshman season at Kansas State, but he might not fit the Heat.

In conjunction with the workouts, the Heat have been actively shopping the second pick in the draft with an eye on selecting Mayo or Bayless lower while acquiring another asset.

If the Heat don't find any takers, sources told ESPN.com's Andy Katz on Tuesday night that Mayo was told by Heat brass -- which included Riley, general manager Randy Pfund and coach Erik Spoelstra -- that he is in contention to be selected outright at No. 2.

After the Heat were informed that Shawn Marion would not opt out of his contract, sources said Riley began calling teams looking for serious offers for the second pick.

The Heat then brought in Mayo and Bayless. Both workouts lasted about 90 minutes. It's the second time the Heat have worked out Bayless and Mayo, and according to sources, Riley believes both are special talents.

Bayless had an "amazing" workout, according to the source. He "shot the lights" out and performed even better than he had in his first workout for the Heat. They believe he can be a full-time point guard in the pros, similar to Chauncey Billups.

The source said Mayo was also "great," and in addition to shooting the ball well, he performed well in some of the ballhandling drills. The Heat believe Mayo could be a Gilbert Arenas-type point guard.

The same source said Riley is enamored of Mayo's and Bayless' shooting ability and believes both can be a point guards in the NBA.

In addition to any questions about attitude, a number of high-ranking NBA sources told Katz that one of the main reasons the Heat wouldn't select Beasley is the hope that they will land Utah's Carlos Boozer in a year when he can opt out of his contract. Boozer has a home in Miami.

With the Heat now identifying two lottery picks whom they would be comfortable with, and with questions about Beasley, it's looking more and more likely like they are going to trade their pick.

So the question is … who is going to win the Michael Beasley sweepstakes? After talking to numerous sources around the league, here are the top four contenders:

Jamie Squire/Getty Images

O.J. Mayo's stock has been rising after workouts with multiple teams the past week.

1. Memphis Grizzlies

The Grizzlies have a huge hole at the power forward position (since trading away Pau Gasol) and see Beasley as an elite talent to pair up with Rudy Gay.

The Grizzlies can offer a number of deals that could entice Miami. They could include the No. 5 pick, Mike Miller and the Heat's choice of either Kyle Lowry or Mike Conley. Adding Miller and a point guard would allow the Heat to be very flexible with whomever they draft at No. 5. They could add another guard such as Bayless or they could go big with a player such as Brook Lopez or Kevin Love.

2. Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers can offer the Heat someone Riley desperately covets: Elton Brand. A swap of the No. 2 pick and Marion for Brand and the No. 7 pick works under the salary cap and helps both teams with their needs. Why would Riley pull the trigger on that trade now, when he could just make a run at Brand in free agency next summer? Sources said the Heat would like to get Brand to Miami as soon as they can and lock him up to a long-term extension this fall. At No. 7, it's possible the Heat could still get Bayless.

The Clippers like Marion and Beasley, but they could actually use the No. 2 pick to grab Mayo. Mayo has been coveted by the Clippers for a while.

The Heat would have to weigh their interest in Brand against their desire for Boozer in 2009 in this scenario, however.

3. Seattle SuperSonics

Kevin Durant covets Beasley as a teammate. They were best friends growing up and want to play together. The Sonics think Beasley is the perfect complement to Durant. They'd be willing to take back more salary to make it happen.

Sources say the Sonics are offering the expiring contract of Chris Wilcox, Johan Petro and the No. 4 pick to Miami for the No. 2 pick and Mark Blount. The move would save the Heat some serious money, putting them well below the cap in the summer of 2009.

The Heat would prefer Jeff Green in the deal instead of Wilcox and Petro, but it doesn't appear the Sonics are willing to go that far, even if the Heat dropped Blount from the equation.

A source close to Seattle told Katz that Miami hasn't called about a deal as of Tuesday.

4. Minnesota Timberwolves

The Wolves have been hoping and praying that Beasley somehow falls to them at No. 3. While he's not a perfect fit, they could move Al Jefferson to the 5 and have one of the highest-scoring front lines in the league. However, Beasley falling to No. 3 looks unlikely -- unless the Heat do pull the trigger on Mayo outright at No. 2. Can the Wolves put together a package that works if Beasley doesn't fall?

The Wolves have a few assets that could entice Miami. They actually hold the Heat's 2009 first-round pick, which is top-10 protected. They also have a player in whom the Heat are interested: last year's lottery pick, Corey Brewer. If the Wolves really want Beasley, perhaps a return of the Heat's first-round pick and/or Brewer could make it happen.

A source close to Minnesota told Katz, however, that the Heat and the Timberwolves have talked but there was no deal that worked for both teams as of Tuesday night. Sources close to both Seattle and Minnesota also said they would take Mayo if he was on the board when they selected.

Reports: O'Neal shipped to Raptors for Ford, pick

The Toronto Raptors and Indiana Pacers have agreed to a blockbuster trade the day before the draft.

Multiple media outlets are reporting that Jermaine O'Neal was dealt to the Raptors for point guard T.J. Ford, center Rasho Nesterovic and the No. 17 overall pick. The Pacers also have the No. 11 pick in the draft.

Ford became somewhat expendable after the emergence of backup Jose Calderon in Toronto, while the injury-prone O'Neal hasn't played in 70 or more games in a season since 2003.

O'Neal averaged 13.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.01 blocks during the '07-08 season, but he played in just 42 games.

Ford played in 51 games with 26 starts for the Raptors, averaging 12.1 points and 6.1 assists.

TOO LAZY TO CHECK IF THIS HAS BEEN POSTED..

OAKLAND ― Golden State Warriors point guard Baron Davis will not test the free agent waters, according to a report by the San Francisco Chronicle on Wednesday.

According to the Chronicle, Davis told teammates he would not exercise the opt-out provision in his contract before the June 30 deadline.

His agent, Todd Ramasar, would only say "it's not likely" in regard to the odds of Davis opting out of the final year of his Golden State deal.

However, another report indicated that while Davis will stay, he may ask to be traded.

The Contra Costa Times reported that the Detroit Pistons may have an interest in Baron Davis after their attempt to snag Carmelo Anthony from Denver came up short.

A source told the newspaper that the Pistons are willing to deal guard Chauncey Billups and Rasheed Wallace.

If Golden State attempts to trade for Wallace and Billups, they could add Al Harrington to the deal, as Harrington is leaning toward asking the Warriors to trade him this summer, but will not decide one way or the other until after the draft.

Good shit, man, considering it's been posted 41 times, and Chree went into premature labor caused by the hissy fit he threw when someone reposted "his" breaking news...which had been posted a week ago. LOL
