nas thinks hes this new level of rapper or i dont know but he sure has his head far up his ass like jay z... im not suprised
i disagree with that, both of them are still humble..but shit if they were both hella cocky i wouldnt knock em for it because they both have reasons to be, if u owned a nas or jay-z album u would know why.

^^yeah true everything is basically dead thanks to chingy, nelly, lil jon for killing rap music :(

Are you crazy? Lil Jon didnt ruin no music he took that shit to another level as a producer. And Nelly isnt that much of a factor no more he dont sell units like he used to.

Although I dont think hip hop will be as good as it was since 1996, some say 1988 but I was only 5 then. But I think hip hop was dead around 1999-2000 when only Master P and P Diddy were selling records. I think hip hop has come back. It used to seem like I would think we are these people getting deals they suck and have not put in any work. I see guys these days getting deals that have put in a lot of work on the independent scene and are actually very talented Emcees. Some examples of recent releases I see are Chammillionare, E-40, Twista, Mobb Deep, The Game, Bun B, Smitty

How is Hip Hop dead ?

Funny how people act like all of the good Hip Hop music has
dissapeared, and all we're left with is Chingy and Lil Jon...

Theres still a gang of great Hip Hop out there...but if you're looking to the radio, MTV, BET, and the clubs to find it, then you you're going to be hard pressed.

There is a place for every type of Hip Hop

funny how nas chooses this as an album name when his bitch (Kelis) is a clear cut example of whats killing hip hop. I think hip hop is still alive, not like the golden era, but still goin pretty strong. The record execs and top dogs running the music business are getting lazy and recycling marketing tactics and are just settling for what worked in the past. Thats why you see so many rappers rappin about the same shit. Aint none of them tryin to take risks, which is what made the golden era of rap so successful, the risk taking. stillmatic was Nas's last good album, and dudes albums have been on the decline since his first album illmatic, which is by far his best ever. If anyone is gonna revive Hiphop, its probably not going to be Nas.

the album is actually called Hip-hop is dead… The N.
“The N” is a play on “the end”

Nas spoke backstage at the Radio City Music Hall on Thursday, where he announced the title of the album. “I didn't name it that. Fans named it that; rappers named it that," he clarified. "It's been the talk for years, so here's an album that brings ... not even the rebirth, it's just an album with that thing that everybody is talking about. I got a street look coming real soon, and more soon after. Summer time is definitely going to be Nas time.

Album should be coming in Late September i heard.
