Jay-Z "Hard Knock Life"

1. Intro - Hand It Down 4
2. Hard Knock Life 1 terrible terrible song. why people enjoyed this annoying piece of shit is beyond me
3. If I Should Die 2.5
4. Ride or Die 2.5
5. Nigga What, Nigga Who (Originator 99) 4 dope, because of Jaz-O's verse
6. Money, Cash, Hoes 1.5 beat sounds like it was made in 2 minutes
7. A Week Ago 4.5
8. Coming of Age (Da Sequel) 1 terrible terrible follow up to a classic hip hop tracc
9. Can I Get A... 2
10. Paper Chase 2.5
11. Reservoir Dogs 2
12. It's Like That 2.5
13. It's Alright [*]
14. Money Ain't a Thang [*]

[*] these don't count because they were on other albums before this

why am i so bitter about this album? after owning 2 classic jay-z albums "reasonable doubt" and "in my lifetime, volume I", my instincts told me that "hard knock life" would be a surefire banger. coy was i wrong.... at least he redeemed himself a little bit with "life and times with shawn carter"

4.5 mics my ass.

i thought the album was ok. i got all Jay-Z's albums (which is fucked up considering, i'm not that big of a fan of his) and i thought it was one of his better ones. that Jay-Z / R. Kelly album was tight though - not many people checked it out

MY OPINION...

Hard Knock Life was one of his top three albums in my opinion. In My Lifetime Vol. 1 and The Life and Times of Sean Carter Vol. 3. were his most dissappointing albums. Just okay at best. And Reasonable Doubt was far from a classic in my book.

1. Hard Knock(Knocks all the way through)
2. Blue Print(Dope album, hardly any guest)
3. Dynasty(Kinda West Coast oriented)
4. Best Of Both Worlds(Good collabo, coulda been better)
5. Reasonable Doubt(Solid but unpolished)
6. In My life Time Vol. 1(Tried too hard for mainstream appeal)
7. The Life & Times Of Sean Carter Vol. 3(Too many weak beats, and average subject matter)
Just my opinion
