i got a discman that plays mp3s so i jus put 700 megs worth on disc, instead of buyin a little player
Id do the same...but the whole reason for the MP3 player is to conceal it...

Ive looked around an i heard the iPods are overrated...especailly at the price you pay...looks like the iRiver or one of the Sonys is the way to go...

I want an MP3 player for when im working out, running and biking. The Ipod shuffle seems perfect, its hella light (about the weight of a key). It also doubles as a USB flash drive. Its way cheaper than other MP3 players with similar storage, and its close in price to a 1GB USB drive. I was thinking on getting a regular ipod, but I dont really need to take all my songs with me. 1GB = about 240 songs, thats more than enough.

ipods ARE overrated...i've got 2 30GB Creative Labs Nomad Zen MP3's, filled up the first one and had to get a second...when i got the first one it was about $290, but now you can get them around $220-240, the second one i got on ebay for $180...i don't think you can beat the price for the capacity it has, i'm probably going to get a 60GB soon cause i know i'm gonna fill my second one...i've seen places on the net where you can get them for around $300-310...the sound quality is great (i've set my transfer rate to around 190kbps, which is supposed to be CD quality or better), it has a couple of different EQ settings you can try for different types of music...as for battery life i do the same as krypticflowz, i just recharge it at night after a day's playing...i've had no problems with either MP3... i know it's not as small as an ipod (mine are about the size of a small cassette walkman), but they'll fit in my pants pocket....the program that it uses is pretty easy to use once you figure it out, not too complicated...imo, if you're the kind of person that likes to pay more for something just because of the name than get an ipod, otherwise get more (GB's) for your money and go with the Nomad Zen, you won't be disappointed and you'll have some extra cash to spend on cd'z.....my 2 cents... :siccness:
