Well, when we released Hustlin City 2 City Vol.1 we had a release party in San Jose at La Perla...that was the name of the spot. But damn was our sound system fucked off. I felt bad, Keltic Tribe went up and the mics just went off and then others went up and the shyt was flickering...damn it sucked but...the crowd never once boo'd...they loved it and it was packed....folks had a great time. But yes, I wish the show part was alot nicer for our debut.

They do get frustrating brotha...you just gotta know, you gonna do shows like that some nights....its a fucked up part of the game but shine homie. I remember in SJ at Club Platinum...the cd player stopped working for FE....and Dutch said fuck it and kicked a freestyle to the whole club with no beat and had niggaz trippen....it was dope. That's making the best of a fucked up situation...you feel.

In 1998, we drove all the way to New Orleans (from Pittsburgh, PA) for this music festival thing that was SUPPOSED to be huge. When we went & signed in, we got a brochure telling us the time & place where we would be performing. Now tell me why the hell they put the rap groups to perform in some old beat down country western bar in the middle of nowhere? There were probably about 15-20 people in the bar (audience), not including the other groups that were there (2 others out of who knows how many were supposed to show up). The audience consisted of middle to old age men with cowboy boots & cowboy hats on. When it was our turn, I forgot my verse. (Shit I just wrote the damn thing a couple hours before.) But we looked around at the audience & said fuck it. SOOOO I pulled my lyrics out my pocket & just read off the paper. Nobody cared, cuzz nobody was really paying attention. But at least we did have about half the audience nodding their heads. It was either us, or they had too many Colt 45s. But after it was over, we just kinda kicked it with the other rap groups that were there.

I've performed at a couple spots where the engineer was SOO bad and the mic volume was WAY too low... you couldn't hear what me or anyone else was sayin and I had to scream into the mic to get any kind of sound out of the speakers... that shit was wack, but we still managed to pull through with some cool shows.

Another time, the cordless mic wasn't working when I went on stage, so I had to use one with the SHORTEST cord and I was stuck in one spot the whole time-- It was uncomfortable and I couldn't work the crowd... worst part was the girl after me wouldn't even perform until they fixed the cordless mic...

I also tripped one time on the 1st step comin up on the stage but nobody saw it because I was blocked by a big ass speaker-- I wasn't trippin but I was like, "Damn, did anybody see that!!"haha

I think every time you perform, you just hope the crowd understands the technicalities, because most of the time something is either wrong with the engineer or the sound equipment... unless you just ain't spittin into the mic..

I'm sure I've got worse shows to come and tons of better ones, but you just gotta role through the bad ones and look to improve each time.

Didn't Cash Money come up here a few years ago?
Don't know where in the Yay they were performing but they openned up by sayin,

"Whaz up L.A.?"

Not only is that embarrasing but it's down right ignorant!
