Hmmmm...not too many Bay albums that I didn't like, but...

MAC DAMMIT MAN & FRIENDS--Unlike many, I've been able to dig most of MD's post '99 projects in a "drunk/high/fuckin' around after hours" way, but this comp from 2002 was lyrically underdeveloped and too musically lazy for even me to get into. Did MD and friends record this DURING the party, or the next morning when everyone was hung over?

Hitman's H20--If you don't know his best stuff (SOLO CREEP, his appearances on Right Way artists' CDs), this may not sound bad, but to me, it came off as disorganized and lyrically confused. Hitman sounded like he was trying too hard to please both the street crowd and the backpackers. When I listen to it NOW, it's sort of...okay, but at the time I bought it, I wasn't thrilled.

Too Short--YOU NASTY--Short Dog can still do it when he puts his back into it, and his last two CDs (WHAT'S MY FAVORITE WORD, MARRIED TO THE GAME) are the closest he's come to recapturing his old thick Funk sound (even if his verses are shorter). But YOU NASTY sounded phoned-in, lazy, and rushed. Guess he was too busy tryin' to launch Bad Wayz and Quint Black's careers...

Souls of Mischief--NO MAN'S LAND--they themselves told RAP PAGES that it was a contract obligation release. 'Nuff said. Stick with '93 TIL INFINITY.

Just my opinions, though.

PEACE!

Mac Dre Presents Little Bruce, might as well buy "Give It To Me Baby" cuz 90% of that album was recycled from there. If they were gonna recycle they at least soulda put some tracks from Exxxtra Mannish on there cuz i can't find that album anywhere, they most likley didn't cuz Bruce dissed MD on that album but I want Mobbin in my old school, thats Bruces most well known song.

luniz--silver and black

any too short cd after gettin it other than the nationwide comp he put out

Some cds that was mentioned was dope as hell.
Uzi-"Deadly Weapon"--that shit dope. Damn near every song.
A-Wax-"Waxfase mix cd"-that shit was decent as hell to be a mixtape.
Too Short-"U Nasty"-that was a Bay Area classic. "Cocktails" & "What's my Favorite Word" are Atlanta-feeling albums that were just OK.
The last Mob Figaz album-had a couple recycled tracks but the new ones was tight enough to make it a dope album.

My most dissapointing Bay Area album was E-40-"Grit & Grind". I just fuck wit the old school E-40--"In A Major Way", "The Hall of Game", "Charlie Hustle" era..
