^ Hmm, I'm a big fan of both, have been a boxing fan all my life, but you know.

They both have really dull, and lackluster fights, and they both have those classic on the edge of your seat type fights.

Really depends on the style contrasts between the two fighters, IMO.

I'm a big fan of boxing and MMA, but boxing just can't fuck with MMA anymore in terms of excitement and getting your moneys worth.
I wouldn't go that far, most boxing is on HBO or Showtime (not to mention ESPN and Versus) and there are typically only a handful of PPV's per year usually just the super fights.

And boxing does create super fights, MMA doesn't really do that. They have big/great cards, but nothing can really fuck with the build up of a boxing super fight.

How many big superstar names do you see on those free events? MMA doesn't put on many super fights on a grand stage like boxing because every mega fight the fans wants to see actually happens without all the fans having to wait out all promoting/boxing politic bullshit.

mma is like checkers and boxing is like chess to me. there seems to be alot more thinking involved (maybe im wrong!) in boxing in comparison to mma...in mma it seems everyones just waiting for dude to fall and get pounded on..and if that dosent happen the excitement level is back to 0...boxing rounds may go on for 12 rounds and no one get knocked down and i can still consider it a good match. but on the other page if that happens in MMA it was a waste of my time.

its kinda like watching a nice fight spill out at the club and then the dudes are wrestling on the ground and people start screaming 'get up!!!' youre just like ah im out...

That's funny to me cause boxing just feels like a more outdated combat sport to me when I watch it. MMA is so much deeper than boxing but maybe I feel that way because i've actually trained brazilian jiu jitsu, muay thai, wrestling and boxing. Every single one of those styles is just as deep as boxing and I consider some way more of a science than boxing itself.

I remember when I was in high school I used to think people who wrestled were faggots. Little did I know those dudes would fuck me up lol.

ive taken different martial arts so i get what youre getting at. but boxing is...whats the word for it? i cant think of the word, so ill say....not a mixture of hella shit.

boxing has changed since the 1920's definitely, but it maintained a pretty much classic sport. the only thing thats changed alot is the boxers.

mma is just too 'mixed' for me in that sense. like im really not interested in seeing a street brawler fight a grappler.

its sort of like if football became some mix of sports all the sudden. i wouldnt watch it. but maybe true sports fans would.

Boxing is boxing and it will never go anywhere. I personally hate these debates between boxing and MMA because it's apples and oranges.

Usually a lot of them, Shane Mosley vs Margarito, Hopkins vs ___, etc. HBO always has great fights and reseves the PPV's (HBO's rule of thumb is to have no more than 6 PPV's per year) for the mega fights like Pacquiao/Hatton, Mayweather, etc.

MMA doesn't put on many super fights on a grand stage like boxing because every mega fight the fans wants to see actually happens without all the fans having to wait out all promoting/boxing politic bullshit.
Huh? That doesn't make sense. I'm talking about fights already signed and made. Like Pacquiao vs de la hoya for exmaple, or even pacquiao vs ricky hatton those are bigger events, for the most part, then MMA fights.

Like I said, MMA (or UFC really) puts on great cards, but boxing has bigger super fights.

mma is chess cause it more complicated and way more different moves to make wile boxing is more straight forward like checkers.

edit:

UFC on mine! fuck watching a boring ass boxing match unless im there live to see it.

ufc on tv is better than fools rolling around on the ground down the street.

fools boxing down the street is better than boxing on tv.
