That would be real tight if Portland got a team....I'm supportin it....However, the Protland market probalbly doesn't have the financial/economic magnitude to support an MLB team . The bottom line is dollars and the MLB is a business. Why move a team to Portland, when you can move it to New Jersey or even Las Vegas...bigger markets.
I personally feel that the Mariners are making a huge mistake not calling the Mariners the "Northwest Mariners", instead of the Seattle Mariners. It would instantly expand their market and support, which makes a team profitable. I think they should play a few games in Portland a year and even campaign a little in Spokane, maybe move the team in Tacoma out to Spokane. The more support you have, the more shirts and tickets you are going to sell, the more money they are going to make. It's all about dollars, the rest is conversation....
I want to see Portland get a team tho, if not I want to see the Mariners get renamed.....the same theory applies for the seahawks....
they actually have a website for the lobbyists in Portland who want to see the MLB come to PDX...I'll get back at cha with that....
