What's up y'all? I just wanted to let it be known that I am a huge fan of mixed martial arts. I've watched just about every U.F.C. event and most of the Pride events. I have also watched K-1 and King Of The Cage events as well. I had started a thread over at Raptalk.net before it went down and it was cool to see all the fans come together of M.M.A. So, instead of postin this at Raptalk again I thought I would post it here to see how many fans there is. So, post thoughts, comments, events, or whatever you want that has to do with the sport. Peace!

yea i watch all that my homie carter william be fightin in the k 1 and he stay whoopin foos but yea i like it all but i would go wit ufc cuz that what i started off wit

Is he like 23 or 24 years old?

I like K1 better than UFC. UFC is cool, but some of the fights can get long and boring. I think K1 has more constant action. Also, the fact that K1 fighters have to fight a grip of fights in one night in order to win is just insane, which is hella better. If your homie is who I think he is, that dude is fucken tight.

The only one I ever watched was UFC until it got stupid with all the new rules. I haven’t watched it since the Royce Gracie (sp) days. Are the others better or do they all have similar rules where you can’t attack them when there on the ground and shit like that? If not, I’d watch again.

I went to a K1 site, looks like it's just kick boxing. The Ernest Hoost Video they have on there is sick.

What they need to do is have some real Gladiator shit. They can throw a few serial killers in a coliseum and fight to the death. “$59.95, one night only! Casy vs. Bundy. Manson vs. Robert Yates!” I'd pay

Carter Williams is a bad man! And he's young too! It's alwayz interestin to watch him fight cuz with each fight he grows into a much better fighter.

And the U.F.C. is where it all began so that's pretty much why it was my choice too. I think a lot of the other orginizations exist because of the U.F.C.

Yeah I think that's about how old Cater Williams is. It's crazy! I think you're right about K-1. It's nice to see the fighters have to fight a couple times to get to the top. That's how U.F.C. used to be, but it's changed. It would've been nice if they could've kept it the same, but it doesn't alwayz work that way. Too many rules.

U.F.C. has changed over the years. In some ways for the better and in some ways for the worse. The better is that it's attractin a whole new audience and it's growin each time. The worse is that it's gotten to where fighters only fight 3 to 4 times a year. So, with that they have to look elsewhere to fight.

Are other orginizations better? Some might say so. There's different rules for each one. In Pride for instance you can kick an apponent in the head while he's down. While in U.F.C. you can't. K-1 is more stand up than anything with minimal fightin on the ground. King of The Cage is similar to U.F.C. So, there are different rules, but in the end these orginizations are lookin out for their fighters and don't want them to get seriously injured.

Ernest Hoost is a real good fighter and a veteran at that.

And havin some Gladiator type shit would be the bomb! I would pay to watch it anyday. I'm surprised they don't have somethin like that already. I've just about seen it all on t.v. by now.

Mike Tyson (K-1 News)

[April 16, 2004] Two-time champion’s first fight in over one year to be promoted by Fight Entertainment Group!

Former undisputed heavyweight boxing champion, “Iron” Mike Tyson (50-4 (44 KO’s), has signed a contract to participate in his next boxing bout. Slated for July, the fight will mark both Tyson’s first ring appearance in over a year as well as his first fight promoted by Fight Entertainment Group (FEG), a subsidiary company of K-1, the world’s premiere martial arts fighting sport.

Tyson’s opponent for the July bout, as well as an exact date for the fight, is expected to be announced shortly. Las Vegas, New York, and Los Angeles have been mentioned as the three possible sites for the event. Terms of the agreement were not announced.

"Mike is excited that he will be boxing again this summer," said Tyson's representatives. "Mike is already back in the gym preparing for the fight, and he's dedicating himself to delivering a great performance in July. We're confident that FEG will put on an amazing show."

During his last contest on February 22, 2003, Tyson toppled Clifford “The Black Rhino” Etienne just 49 seconds into the first round of their meeting in Memphis, Tennessee’s Pyramid Arena.

For some time, K-1 had sought to make Tyson a part of its promotion that is well-known for its Superbowl-like production. Last summer, Tyson signed an agreement which designated K-1 as his exclusive representative in Japan and granted K-1 certain promotional rights with respect to any Tyson boxing matches held in Japan. Less than a year later, K-1 agreed to serve as Tyson's boxing promoter for a boxing match to be held in the U.S.

K-1 is a martial arts fighting sport that derives its name from its inclusion of a wide array of combat disciplines, including Karate, Kung-Fu, and Kickboxing (“K”), and its intent to determine one champion in one ring (“1”). After being staged for the first time in Japan in 1993 under the direction of founder Master Kazuyoshi Ishii, it later evolved into the country’s most popular sport and achieved popular culture status there as its athletes turned into larger-than-life celebrities. Last year, K-1 USA, the North American subsidiary of K-1, inked a partnership with ESPN to jointly market Pay-Per-View televised K-1 fight cards.

I like UFC, but Pride has the better fighters. For some reason I get more into it when I watch UFC, just a little bit more than when I watch Pride. Next weekend should be good though, as both Pride and UFC will be on back to back nights. Everytime I see K-1 I am not really impressed, I think a lot of the fights lack action and are pretty boring. Of course the K-1's in Vegas are awful because they have a bunch of stiffs in the tourny, most of the good fighters fight for their events in Japan.

I think Pride might have the better fighters, but for some reason I get a little more excited about U.F.C. as well. Maybe it's the fact that they're fightin in a cage instead of a ring. I don't know. I think the U.F.C. puts more commercial shit to it than Pride does. You watch Pride and the crowd is super quiet, but you watch the U.F.C. and the crowd goes nuts. I think it has somethin to do with the cultures though. K-1 to me is okay, but I don't like it as much as the other orginizations.
