Who cares about dog fighting. Its no different then the mexicans fighting their chickens. A dog is an animal. People kill animals and eat them all the time and you don't see hunters thrown in jail. What makes a dog so important in the animal world? You can train them to roll over and carry a newspaper. Stop putting dogs on a pedestal.
EDIT: I have 2 dogs so don't think I hate dogs. I just don't see how an animal can get anyone jail time.

I dont condone Vicks dog fighting shit but I think its messed up he did all that time in jail over what he did where Dante Stallworth killed a guy while drunk driving and pretty much walked 30 days ain't shit for taking a human life. Then you have Plaxico Burress looking at all kinds of time over a fucking gun charge. Our justice system is ass backwards

Cows are also very stupid in the animal world, dogs are very SMART.
Dogs help people SEE, give companionship, and have been known to save LIVES. When was the last tiem a COW did that? I can take a guess and say NEVER.
Are some of you people that ignorant about what canine's provide to humans? Why would you want to make something suffer because YOU think it cant feel pain/suffer?

That's almost like comparing a dog to a pig. But then again, I met this farmer one time who had a 3 legged pig. I asked him what happened to the pig's leg, and he told me this long ass story about how the pig was his best friend in the world, way more loving or faithful than any dog he ever owned. He said he flipped his tractor, and the pig went and got help and saved his life. He would have died under the tractor if the pig didn't think fast and go for help. I asked him again what the heck happened to the pigs leg. He went on to tell me another long ass story about his house being on fire, and the pig waking everyone up to get out of the house, and that if the pig didn't alert everyone, they may have slept through the fire. He seemed so damn proud of this pig who saved his life twice. So again, I asked what happened to the pigs leg. He looked me dead in my face and said "A pig that special, you can't eat him all at once"
