You all make it seem like if you don't think a dog is on the level of a person then you are a bad person, don't give a shit about dogs, skin them alive and wear dog fur coats, rip their legs off and chew on their bones, etc. I love dogs. I've had a dog (or two) my whole life growing up until I went to school and moved out. One of the tougher things i've been through was losing one of my dogs. But it damn sure wasn't close to how hard it was for me when my grandfather and grandmother passed.

I guess for me, at the end of the day, I still see a dog for what it is, a dog, and I see a human for what it is, a human. I just can't find the justification in valuing a dogs life over a human's. (i am looking at this from an outside perspective, not thinking of my dog, but all dogs in general. i would place my dogs life above the life of someone awaiting the death penalty for raping and murdering 7 year old kids, but i don't think thats the best way to look at this debate/argument).

It could also depend on the bond you form with certain life.

And I think ALL life is equally important. Humans are NOT special.

HUMANS ARE ANIMALS. MAMMALS EVEN. SAME AS DOLPHINS.

So yes, HUMANS ARE LIKE DOGS.

Logically speaking if:

Human = Animal

and

Dog = Animal

I'd say we're both animals and life is equally valuable. Humans just have EGOS and conscious thought, which makes most humans think they are more important than other forms of life which is COMPLETELY UNTRUE.

As far as Vick goes, he did his time. But doing what he did, pretty much viciously murdering his dogs, he probably deserved more jail time. Or a PUBLIC STONING like they do cheating broads in the Middle East.
