was that number 1 on sportcenter top plays?
#2. fuck espn.

even if team usa wins they will never have what mexican players have...true support from their ppl...real fans who actually passionately care when they win and lose. this cultures lack of appreciation for the world's sport is just sad. when americans say soccer is gay they sound as dumb as old white ppl who think rap is morally bad

if im getting that right...mls has higher attendance than brazilian club soccer? that doesnt change the fact that soccer is a marginalized sport in america while its sacred in brazil. if a radio host in brazil said the things jim rome says about soccer he wouldnt be on the air again. here jim rome has plenty of support for his soccer bashing. here you have marginalized ethnic minorities who dig soccer, and a pocket of middle class global travel and culture appreciating americans who truly dig soccer. but the general american masses still dismiss it as a inferiors sport for foreigners and pansies.

this is changing and getting better, but over all most americans still dont give a fuck about soccer and they love to cling to that when usa loses like an excuse. reminds me of kids back in the day who would strike out in baseball and immediately say "i dont care, i dont even like baseball" haha

I certainly agree with you there Carl, i strongly believe soccer remains on the outside looking in here in the u.s. due to the fact that here the majority of sports have a massive amount of points scored. Therefore, many consider it very boring and not entertaining enough. As far as i'm concerned this sport is 90 minutes of pure action, with a very brief halftime. They do not have the breaks, you get in the NBA, MLB, or NFL, lastly you get the best workout playing soccer 90 minutes of a consistent fast paced jog / sprint. There are many ignorant "Jim Rome's" here in the u.s. so to speak haha.

I agree, plus Brazil exports hundreds of players to Europe and the leagues around the world. USA has a few players who play in foreign countries, but most of their players stay at home. If Brazilians stayed in the Brazilian league, it'd be the best league in the world. Just something else to think about...

props to those that voted for Mexico....

I'm Salvadorian and I had to go with Mexico in the finals...

they played the game very well from the start, that's why I had to go with them...

Giovani's gol was beautiful....I had to drink to that..

With this win, Mexico moved up to the Fifa Top Ten (9th), one place ahead of Argentina.
The USA are, like always, irrelevant.
And Europe is still ahead of the game.
