Who's closing doors?? Too $hort, E-40, Digital Underground, Hammer, etc etc etc, don't owe nobody shit. Young artists are always looking for a fuckin handout. Put me on, put me on..... You didn't put me on, you're a hater. Fuck that, make your own way. Earn it yourself. Who put Too $hort on?? Who put E-40 on?? They didn't come in the industry in the 80's and cry about the older artists before them. Oh if they only they would move out of the way, we might have a chance. Boo hoo, what kinda cry baby shit is that. They worked hard and they made their own way in the industry and they are successful.

People love to sit back and talk about where the Bay Area might be, what it could be, if only, this happened, or that happened, or this person helped out, bla bla, etc. Too $hort made home made cassette tapes and sold them on the bus until his buzz got big and he started releasing real albums and got a deal. E-40 and The Click built their buzz from the ground up, hitting the pavement and campaigning across the Bay Area, selling tapes, wearing their E-40 and The Click hats, T-shirts, jackets, etc until they built up enough buzz, sold real units here in the Bay and in key markets and then the majors came calling.

Its really a mentality thing these days, nobody wants to WORK to get where they want to be. Good music and hard work always prevail. What is an artist cosign even worth these days?

i been saying the exact same shit lately... and to my knowledge, e-40 was pushing tapes out in new orleans and atlanta also... no hand outs there.

but leave it up to these dusty little rap muthafuckas to be the only people in the entire music industry to expect a hand out.
