Who's closing doors?? Too $hort, E-40, Digital Underground, Hammer, etc etc etc, don't owe nobody shit. Young artists are always looking for a fuckin handout. Put me on, put me on..... You didn't put me on, you're a hater. Fuck that, make your own way. Earn it yourself. Who put Too $hort on?? Who put E-40 on?? They didn't come in the industry in the 80's and cry about the older artists before them. Oh if they only they would move out of the way, we might have a chance. Boo hoo, what kinda cry baby shit is that. They worked hard and they made their own way in the industry and they are successful.

People love to sit back and talk about where the Bay Area might be, what it could be, if only, this happened, or that happened, or this person helped out, bla bla, etc. Too $hort made home made cassette tapes and sold them on the bus until his buzz got big and he started releasing real albums and got a deal. E-40 and The Click built their buzz from the ground up, hitting the pavement and campaigning across the Bay Area, selling tapes, wearing their E-40 and The Click hats, T-shirts, jackets, etc until they built up enough buzz, sold real units here in the Bay and in key markets and then the majors came calling.

Its really a mentality thing these days, nobody wants to WORK to get where they want to be. Good music and hard work always prevail. What is an artist cosign even worth these days?

QFMFT! there are so many more outlets to get known now a days then 20+ yrs ago... u got mixtape websites, social websites, apps, youtube, wshh, RAP TALK BOARDS!... i actually think it mite be easier for people to get their music out there than for people like E 40 and Short when they were comin up...in todays era u dont have to travel to ATL or NYC or somewhere out the west coast to get ur music heard by that area or region...their music would literally be a click of a mouse away...also expenses for hard copies of discs would put that much more money in ur pocket for promo, bcuz hard copies r really becoming obsolete...like C-4 was sayin its all on how heavy ur grindin...even shows...its not hard to visit a local couple local venues to get ur name on a line up...people jus think that rappin is recordin and performin, and think they dont gota do any of the real work like promo and marketing. creating the buzz should be an artists priority, because if they think they got the talent, then generating a buzz and a follwoing should be the more difficult part...its not like their talents are here today and gone tomorrow.... $.02

The thing is though.. Mess wasn't expecting Short to put him on.. He already has put I'n his work, grinding across country building his own buzz.. I think the beef was more centered around personal disrespect.. But it is true Short never put no one on, besides the Pack and look at Lil Bs Gay Ass.. that's a bad thing not a good look at all for the Bay. Mess put out those Fillmore Nation CDs with Dudes who would have never gotten that opportunity any other way. Homewrecka and Boo/ CCG dudes.. Plus Keyshia Cole! Jessica rabbits sexy ass, and Matt Blaque!! He's arguably the Nate Dogg of the Bay now, he's killin it Hella talented and on EVERYones shit! There might be some more I cant remember off the top of my head but to me that's a pretty significant contribution to the Bay scene..
