Ever heard of Fedor?

Yes, and he's still not as good at what he does as Floyd is.

As far as no deaths from MMA, like I said before. There are probably 10 boxing matches for every 1 MMA fight going on. Plus, boxing has been around for 1,000 times longer than MMA.

Of course there are going to be more injuries and deaths ! Common sense.

Anyone who sits there and tries to tell me that MMA is safer than boxing is a moron. Period.

Knees, elbows, kicks, to the head...?! 4 ounce gloves...?!

Pfft. I like MMA and boxing, but you're an idiot if you think that MMA is even the least bit safer than boxing.

Only a complete moron wouldn't understand that the only way to immediately "win" in Boxing is to knock someone out via repeated blows to (usually) the head.....whereas MMA also has submissions.

In Boxing, you have to hit, and punch, and pummel your opponent until either they drop for the count, or you get the decision. In MMA, you weaken your opponent then go for the quick victory.

In Boxing, if someone gets rocked and drops to the ground....even if they SHOULD stop fighting, they still have the 10 count. Many times, a fighter will be fucked up but be OK'd to continue, only to be socked with a wide open blow right in the face. -- In MMA, once you're dropped.....95% of the time, the fight is over. Right then and there. You're done.

Do yourself a favor and don't argue safety unless you know what you're talking about. Definitely don't throw around words like idiot unless you want to be proven one.

^ So are you trying to tell me that if SAFETY was your number one concern, than an MMA fight, which allows elbows, kicks, and knees to the face and just about every other area of the body, besides the groin, are permitted, would be a safer choice, than boxing, where only blows from the waist up are allowed, with 10oz gloves...?!

Well technicially MMA is safer, but I'd still rather get hit in the face by a boxer than kicked by Cro Cop (I guess Gonzaga now lol). But in MMA you're only going to get hit a few times, and once you can't defend yourself it's over. In boxing you get hit hundreds of times and it's just as damaging.

Sherk at 155 lbs is a fucking beast.
No boxer will last long on their feet.

Floyd was simply running his mouth as usual.
I'm sure he meant it but took his words back when Dana and Sherk challenged him. It was his only way out of the mess his mouth got him into....

I agree with Norcal916... if Mayweather came out swinging his chances would be hella good. Just think what kind of shape Mayweather is in and he's been boxing since he was a kid. Once them UFC fighters drop their heads to try to come in and grapple.... all it will take is one shot like an uppercut to daze the UFC fighter and the fight is over.
