Under a million is what dan rafael is saying, he says he has two inside sources. That can't be confimred for at least a few more days or week or so.

I don't think Showtime does a good job promoting, HBO is better and reaches more people. Yeah Showtime had a Floyd documentary on CBS but the ratings were terrible...I don't think CBS is a good place for boxing promotions...kind of an old people TV channel lol. Also I don't think many people knew of Guerrero and/or thought he had any chance at beating Floyd. Possibly Pacquiao being out of the picture could hurt a little bit and Canelo not on the undercard as originally planned may have hurt a tad as well.

I read that in order for Showtime to "break even" they needed to sell about 1.1-1.2 million buys since Floyd got a guarantee of 32 million and all the money they invested. So while under a million isn't terrible it's not really good for Showtime.

Canelo fans you may be in luck cuz I think this may pressure Showtime/Golden Boy/Floyd to fight Canelo next. Fighting the Devon Alexander's of the world aren't going to really cut it, not if Floyd requires this kind of money anyways.
Not to mention they got Paul M commentating on fights.....where as HBO has HOF's like Roy Jones Jr. and Stewart before him.....

Shit is stupid....

But let's be real here, his company is called Mayweather Promotions Right? Floyd has to take responsibility himself and GBP cuz the under cards could have been Shosport main events, but GBP lines up their up-and-coming fighters with past-prime vets and Mayweather's fighters are real hype jobs. If they switched the Garcia fight with the Mares fight then we might see higher numbers. Not everyone wants to see Floyd fight, just remember that

Mares fan base got bigger Saturday night.

I was sitting in a house full of Mexicans who were De Leon fans, but they were highly impressed with Mares. I am sure most people were who didn't know him before.

I hope he stays away from Rigo......though.

I forgot to mention that $70 price tag for the PPV was steep. I think some people saw $70 and said fuck that.
Where I watched it they had an HD tv but still ordered the non HD channel lol. It didnt look to bad though but I was kinda mad on the under because i didnt know they were gonna do that. Got Em!!

not sure but he said katsidis hit harder then may lol..dunno no yet he said hes def gunna be back in sept..I would think it would be Ortiz,maidnana,khan..lotta options good fights...from 140-47 I think ghost beats all them except fmj..for now..
Awe so post fight shots at Mayweather lol. Just give props and move on lol. Dude might hit harder but dude isnt half the fighter that Mayweather is. Also I think Guerrero could beat most fighters out there also with the exception of Mayweather & Broner. Got Em!!

thanks ..yea fmj was quick.. wish he would traded tho..but he did what he had to...
Yea but May fought his fight and his father's game plan. Why take hits u dont need to take. Why play to the other fighters advantage? U dont go undefeated fighting like that. Ask Rigo. lol Got Em!!

Now I do agree Paulie sucks but I like the rest and Bernstein is the best in the business. Got Em!!

That shit wasn't legit and never would have been legit. We don't have to go over this all again but to quickly sum up Pac simply can't accept money from a fighter and completely bypass Top Rank whom he has a legal, binding contract with. He would be sued and he'd lose. Floyd wanted to pay Pacquiao and have Golden Boy/Mayweather promotions promote the fight and completely leave out Bob Arum/Top Rank. Everyone knows that shit could never fly, lets be real here.

Bottom line is both Pacquiao & Floyd were at fault. Each had their share of bullshit, and if they both truly wanted to fight it would have happened. Floyd could have bended more to Pac, Pac could have bended more to Floyd, it would have happened. But both these got egos, both these guys thought they didn't need the other and honestly they didn't (being that both were making over $20 million a fight against other guys).
When Floyd made a move to breakaway from Arum and fight Oscar wasn't he in the same situation as Pacquiao being with Top Rank? When Floyd bought out his own contract he sky rocketed...seems to me Pacquiao could have done the same thing and been in at least 2 major fights with Floyd if he could have made the first one competitive. In hind sight even if Pac lost it wouldn't have hurt his marketability as a major draw...he seems to be surviving the Marquez KO and still getting $20 mill after two back to back loses (3 if you include Pac vs Marq 3). So he lost possibly two fights at $40 mill would have never fought Bradley and wouldn't have taken Marquez for a 4th time...(maybe later down the line with Marq). In the end...the whole thing is Manny Pacquiao and Bob Arums fault.

Floyd's contract was not the same as Pacquiao's with top rank. Floyd was able to buy out his contract through a loophole for only $700,000. Best believe Arum wouldn't let that happen again.

Yes, Pacquiao would be a smart business man to have been a free agent like Floyd, however who Pacquiao wants to pay isn't our concern nor should have it been Floyd's. Like 50 cent said, who gives a shit what Pacquiao does with his money.

My comment was not centered around who Pacquiao woulbe paying it was to show that when a mega fight was on the vege of being made...Floyd made it happen and conceded to Oscar everything...Oscar was the PPV King which outwieghted being the PFP King...Manny kept hiding behind Arum...same situation same promoter...different decisions. ..maybe I'm looking at this to simple.

Did you completely miss the part where I said Floyds contract at the time was structured completely different than Pacs and Floyd got out due to a loophole?

Besides, if Pac WANTS to be promoted by Top Rank thats his business. It shouldn't matter to Floyd if a certain percentage of PAC'S money goes to top rank or not. additionally as I said, when Floyd offered Pac a flat fee $40 million and keeping 100% of the PPV revenue for himself, this would have excluded Top Rank from promoting or even co-promoting the event while Pac was under contract. It was an impossible offer.

U act like its May's fault the Pac fight didnt happen. May offered dude 40 mill personally and dude turned it down. Now he couldnt get 20 mill to fight Floyd lol. Got Em!!
May just got 32 mil to fight Guerrero. 40 mil isn't enough for the money they'd pull in man. 2 million PPV's at 50 bucks is..................... 100,000,000 dollars. Granted that doesn't all go into their pockets, but that's just the start man. It probably would've done well over 2million buys.

Don't use logic. It won't work.

Pacquiao "I'll fight Floyd on his terms, anything he wants, I'll accept less than 50/50"
Floyd personally calls him and says let's fight, I got $40 million for you guaranteed
Pacquiao says 50/50 or no fight.

I just find it funny how Pacquiao says he'll drug test inbetween rounds but then when the contract was in his face for him to agree and sign, he says two weeks isn't enough time.
