That shit wasn't legit and never would have been legit. We don't have to go over this all again but to quickly sum up Pac simply can't accept money from a fighter and completely bypass Top Rank whom he has a legal, binding contract with. He would be sued and he'd lose. Floyd wanted to pay Pacquiao and have Golden Boy/Mayweather promotions promote the fight and completely leave out Bob Arum/Top Rank. Everyone knows that shit could never fly, lets be real here.

Bottom line is both Pacquiao & Floyd were at fault. Each had their share of bullshit, and if they both truly wanted to fight it would have happened. Floyd could have bended more to Pac, Pac could have bended more to Floyd, it would have happened. But both these got egos, both these guys thought they didn't need the other and honestly they didn't (being that both were making over $20 million a fight against other guys).
Dude I just get tired of hearing over and over that Floyd ducked Manny. I agree both were at fault but if someone is gonna say Floyd ducked then I am gonna say Manny ducked. Just how it is.

lol @ someone sayin Ortiz was breaking down Floyd's defense LMFAO!!!!! Got Em!!

He made Robert look bad and we all know Robert is a damn good fighter, just a testament to Floyd. Anyway good shit though and glad yall kicked it. Just dont ever bet against Floyd family or not lol. Got Em!!

The money split was at an even 50/50, he compromised by offering a two week cut off. Did Shane, Ortiz, Cotto, and or Guerrero get two week cut offs? Did they get 50/50? How far do you expect Floyd to bend?

It was team Pacquiao who stood firm on their "we'll do what the commission wants, who is Mayweather? He doesn't make the rules".... quit blaming Floyd for the fight not happening.

This is not a hater question, but a real one. Didn't Floyd mention that he didn't want to give a 50/50 split cuz everyone wanted to see him as the main attraction? 2-0-Sixx is right tho they both could have worked it out if they really wanted to

Jesus christ you're thick. As stated, if Floyd really wanted the fight it was right there, same goes for Pac. additionally you're acting like the first negotiations was the only time it could have happened, Pac later agreed to no cutoff but there were other problems.

Both were at fault, period.

2-0-Sixx @2-0-Sixx word on the street is this PPV didn't get 1 mill buys, my homie told me. You up on your shit, could you figure out if it's true? Cuz if that's the case then that means it's Canelo vs Mayweather on 9-14 homie!

Common sense 06,

Why did Pac "later" agree but didn't agree when it was time? That tells he me ducked because if he later agreed (is what he was telling the media), he should/would/could have agreed when negotiations stalled. That was the "only" hold up back in 2010 when they were at 50/50. Floyd begged him to "take the test" and gave him a two week cut off.... but yeah it's Floyd's fault.

Furthermore, it was Pacquiao who chose to fight Clottey before Floyd ended up fighting Shane, so that should tell you who walked away first.

Pacquiao says my promoter chooses my opponents
Bob Arum says Pacquiao chooses who he fights

None of them wanted to take the blame for the fight not happening!

he said it got 900 thow and they lost a shit load of money on this one
Yea I think it was just under a mill actually. I dont necessarily blame it on fighting an unknown Guerrero but like 206 said earlier Showtime didnt do a great job promoting the fight like HBO does. 24/7 has always had a lot of hype and promotion but that All Access had no promotion. They just didnt handle it right. It was like they finally got Floyd and didnt know what to do with him lol. They couldve easily hit another 200-300 thousand with the right promotion and hit that 1.2 number they needed to hit make their money back. Oh well i bet Showtime will learn for next time. Got Em!!

I think Sho did a great job, but the commentators just flat out suck! The reality is that Floyd needs to find a big fighter to defend his titles against, and that's Canelo. I just hope he doesn't vacate any of his titles cuz he did work hard for them, can't take that away from any champ or mandatory

Under a million is what dan rafael is saying, he says he has two inside sources. That can't be confimred for at least a few more days or week or so.

I don't think Showtime does a good job promoting, HBO is better and reaches more people. Yeah Showtime had a Floyd documentary on CBS but the ratings were terrible...I don't think CBS is a good place for boxing promotions...kind of an old people TV channel lol. Also I don't think many people knew of Guerrero and/or thought he had any chance at beating Floyd. Possibly Pacquiao being out of the picture could hurt a little bit and Canelo not on the undercard as originally planned may have hurt a tad as well.

I read that in order for Showtime to "break even" they needed to sell about 1.1-1.2 million buys since Floyd got a guarantee of 32 million and all the money they invested. So while under a million isn't terrible it's not really good for Showtime.

Canelo fans you may be in luck cuz I think this may pressure Showtime/Golden Boy/Floyd to fight Canelo next. Fighting the Devon Alexander's of the world aren't going to really cut it, not if Floyd requires this kind of money anyways.

Look man I'm not going to sit here and argue shit we already talked about a million times. My point is simple and fair - both sides could have done more if they truly wanted it. Doesn't matter who was more right or more wrong at the end of the day they both fucked it up. All parties involved from Floyd/Pac to Top Rank & Golden Boy. All of them are guilty and like I said it didn't really matter to them cuz both were making BANK fighting other guys.

I think Mayweather can put up high quality PPV if he fights outside of Mex Holidays and puts up good undercards. Like having Broner as an undercard, or having a couple heavyweights on it for KO's n shit, fucking, his girl being a ringside bitch, all that shit! For reals tho! even Having potential opponents on the undercards like how Top Rank does it. To do fights on Sho is cool, but now is the chance to have good PPV with Mayweather and GBP. Trout vs Cotto as a rematch, maybe Danny Garcia fighting a subpar fighter just to promo himself, shit like that. But Mayweather won't cuz then people would want to see him fight that person or might be outshined then another Boxing Promo company war. But it would be good PPV. I still want to see him unify the title if possible vs Alexander. Not many fighters can do or say that

My dumb ass ordered it, but unless the fight or the undercard is worth it, I'd rather go to TJ that nite and get fucked up. Where would Floyd rather have me at?
