I watched the fight with my gf. She is a big fan of Roy Jones but never seen a Floyd fight so I had to let her know how Floyd fights. I actually had a few conversations with her about his style. So we watched the fight and even she could tell how Floyd was victorious.
As I stated before I am a casual boxing fan. I used to be much bigger into boxing when tuesday night fights was on tv. My pops was a huge Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard Fan. Grew up in Puerto Rico as a kid when Macho Camacho was God. You gotta respect Floyd for being the best defensive fighter ever. The nigga is protecting himself and getting money. You cant be mad at that. Or would you rather him get pummeled in the center of the ring for your amusement and 20 years from now he is looking like Ali.
A Pacman win would have been good for boxing, I agree with that. But he lost the killer instinct when he gave his life to Christ. I can speak from first hand experience once you give up your "old life" you are a different person. You approach situations differently. Killer instinct is a must in any professional sport imo. Like HERESY @HERESY said, he needs to retire.
Was it a boring fight? Yes. But you have to give Mayweather his props. dude is about to be 49-0 come September and will be in the conversation as one of the best fighters ever.

That was the first full boxing match I've ever watched and wow is all I can say. ALL THAT HYPE.... 100$$ just to watch the fucking thing....for what? This was supposed to be a legendary match up and wow was it boring. I mean sorry if I just don't understand but that's just how I saw it. Watching a guy run from another guy.

I actually think Manny wanted to knock Floyd out and had the killer instinct! Yall not giving Floyd enough credit. He just couldnt get off and got tired of getting popped by that right hand and jab! He was looking for the knockout or anyway to get in but just couldnt. And gthe couple of flurries he had that Floyd gave him, he blocked every punch that the crowd was cheering lol. Got Em!!

Some fights live up to the hype, some fights don't. That's no different than other sports. Sometimes there's an NFL playoff game or superbowl where both teams match up well and everyone's thinking This is going to be an amazing game! Then it ends up 17-3 in a boring game. Basketball, football, hockey you name it, it happens.

I'm surprised this is the first boxing fight you've ever watched...never seen Mike Tyson, etc.? Anyways, Mayweather is a defensive fighter, he's not one to brawl or score KO'S and he doesn't have the showmanship of a Sugar Ray Leonard either. If you're looking for an action packed fight, Mayweather is NOT the guy to watch, he doesn't fight that way. He's like the GSP of boxing. UFC casuals don't appreciate his grappling, they want to see some KOs, people aren't going to appreciate the technical shit he's doing. Or perhaps someone who doesn't watch a lot of basketball probably wouldn't appreciate the technical game style of the Spurs.

taken from r/boxing:

Congratulations Mayweather, you got what you wanted; a Manny Pacquiao that clearly is far past his prime and is a shell of his former self. You just got paid 200 million dollars to run and go backwards, and cherry pick a fight that should have happened 5 years ago, because you knew you would have lost. What a fucking travesty for boxing fans. We were robbed of a fight we deserved, because you're so scared of that undefeated record being broken. I'll admit, Mayweather did win this fight on the score cards, but I can't respect you at all. I can't put you with the greats. Anyone who thinks this is "defense" or being a "technician" is a fucking idiot. Sure, dancing around and running will win you decisions, but you're still a bitch. How can anyone root for this man or think he's great? He's a pussy. Congrats on ducking Manny until you knew you would win. That's not boxing to me, there's more than just winning and a great record when it comes to being a great, you have to go toe to toe and actually fight other greats to solidify yourself as better thant hat man. And I watched it, Flloyd was his same old self. He is scared to go toe to toe. Sure, what he did is smart to win on score cards and keep that undefeated record, and logically the objective is to win; but I can't respect that strategy or put him up there with the greats. Anyone who thinks that was a good fight or Mayweather was great is fooling themselves. I won't lie, Manny looked awful also, his former self had fury in his punches and was just as fast as Mayweather. Pacquiao used to be active and move his feet. It's sad to see such a great look so bad, but Flloyd knew this would happen and ducked all these years. It's no secret that he avoided him when they were in their prime, that's well documented. I'm just pissed for myself and all boxing fans, we were robbed of a great fight.

I've only seen highlights of boxing matches it just never really interested me. I grew up in the country and no one ever even talked about boxing growing up.

But yeah I think if I understood it more I would appreciate it. but the average newcomer viewer like me I'm sure was less than thrilled with this whole ordeal and just how expensive it was to even watch it. It sure left me with an unpleasant feeling overall towards boxing.

That's why I never understood why Mayweather is such a big crossover star, everyone always complains after his fights. And then the next fight comes and it's like everyone forgot that they thought he was boring.

But certainly not all fights are like that and that was by far the most expensive PPV ever. It was not usual, there were many many unique circumstances that the general public don't understand. It took a lot to get this fight happening. Floyd has a contract with Showtime, Pacquiao with HBO. There were many many pieces of a very complicated puzzle to make this fight happen. Very unusual circumstances.

Anyways, any newcomer should watch more fan friendly fighters first before watching a defensive technical fighter like Floyd. Its like never tasting wine before and having a hundred year old fine wine for your first time - you're not going to be able to appreciate it at all. Watch guys like Golovkin, Lucas Matthysse, Sergey Kovalev. These types of fighters are very entertaining.

Why stop there? I'd rather read your top 10 Floyd accolades and lack of accusations as opposed to some schadenfreude lol

I'm 28min in, and all I can focus on is her pelvic region. Is there anything else in particular that you're seeing other than a gorgeous chick who appears to not want to be there and is almost crying at times lol?

The fact that she clearly doesn't want to be there and is almost crying at times. The other chick kept the same stupid look on her face. The one in question was contemplating suicide.

And if the man is so boring how he fuck did he get a check for nine figures?
your a smart guy. you know 9 figures don't make you a "not boring" fighter.
the best thing Mayweather is good at (besides his boring style) is promoting. that's why he gets breaded.

i do think it's dumb for Oscar De La Hoya to hate. i didn't expect anything different from Floyd. i don't know why De La Hoya did.

Manny looked like he tried to coast the second half of that fight. I think he thought he was really winning every round...
