Looks like Manny has agreed to fight Clottey. Oh boy. This one should be good. I'm pissed about the Mayweather fight not happening, but this one will definitely be more exciting.

I'm going with manny by decision.

I think it will be a tough fight for manny, I don't think he can really hurt the iron faced Ghanaian.

I also think somewhere along the lines pacquiao will eat a monster headbutt and will be bleeding pretty badly.

But pacquiao is fast enough and smart enough to box his way to a decision, but we'll see manny eat a few big head snapping shots from time to time.

Great fight.

^^the main difference is cotto has always had a bit of a shaky chin whereas Clottey's entire head is literally made of steal. You could hit him in the face with a sledge hammer and he'd laugh at you. In fact, he was in the fight against Margarito where margarito set the record for most punches thrown/landed EVER in boxing (1,675 total punches thrown) and Clottey wasn't even phased, and we all know Margarito had plaster in his hands in his winning days. That says a lot.

Pacquiao, Clottey near deal to fight on March 13 at Cowboys Stadium

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/mma/boxing/01/08/pacquiao.clottey/index.html

[...]

Arum says Pacquiao-Clottey will likely be held at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas. A delegation from Top Rank will fly to Texas this weekend to finalize an agreement with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

"We're on the same page," Arum said.

The contracts will be signed by Pacquiao and Clottey sometime next week. Pacquiao is currently training in the Philippines while Clottey is traveling to the U.S. from Africa and will arrive on Tuesday.

So Pac is going to fight another top 5 WW. Floyd on the other hand is probably going to fight another smaller fighter such as The eyebrow plucker or lil brother Hatton.

haha, exactly. Pacquiao's welterweight resume is really starting to embarrass floyd.

IMO, Floyd should drop the guido and just wait three weeks for the Shane Mosley/Berto winner. That is the only fight he can take as far as the public not calling him a pussy for. Paul Williams would also be a great statement by floyd but we all know that wont happen. Lastly, Timothy Bradley would be a pretty decent opponent too, much better than Paulie, but he's a 140 pound fighter as well...

Knowing Floyd he will probably fight the loser of the Berto/Mosely fight.

I agree.
If he does hurt/KO Clottey the substance rumors are going to get worse.

I am going with a Pacquiao UD.

What I am afraid of though, as a Pacquiao fan, is this fight looking like Margarito-Cotto fight. Obviously, Cotto was much sharper, and outboxed Margarito for most of the fight, but his punches didn't seem to effect Margarito, therefore he continued to apply pressure, and eventually Cotto folded under that pressure.

Clottey doesn't throw as many punches, and won't have the benefit of Plaster of Paris in his gloves...LOL...but he's not going to be as easy to hit, and even when you do get through the guard, his chin is granite.

Plus Clottey has a reputation for being somewhat of a dirty fighter, and his head should be considered a deadly weapon. I think he leads with his head on purpose sometimes, but then again the circumference of that motherfucking dome is just insane.

Clottey might be the one guy who goes into Hat Club looking for a size 9 fitted cap.
