^ Yeah, but Pacquiao makes way too much for HBO to air it without it being a PPV. But I have heard the Margarito is supposed to be fighting on the card as well. Hopefully that's true, because he's always in good fights.

Yeah, but its going to be PPV for sure. Pacquiao has a loyal following, and is known for having entertaining fights so they know it'll sell regardless of who he's fighting.

Pacquiao-Clottey Finalized: Cowboys Stadium, Full Details

By Rick Reeno

BoxingScene.com spoke with a very excited Bob Arum [CEO for Top Rank] on Sunday afternoon. Arum just closed a deal with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to stage Manny Pacquiao's defense of the WBO welterweight title against Joshua Clottey at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas on March 13. Arum and Top Rank president Todd duBoef flew to Texas on Saturday to meet with Jones. They sat and watched the Cowboys' big win over the Eagles. They plan to scale the venue for a crowd of 50,000 fans.

"We have deal for March 13. Rick, I have to tell you something - this place blew me away. It was the greatest place that I've ever been to. This boxing event will be so memorable for the fans and this not a normal stadium. It's hard to picture it unless you come here and see it for yourself with all of the electronics and the big screens," Arum said to BoxingScene.

There is still no word on HBO's involvement with the pay-per-view. Arum would like to get HBO on board, but he plans to move forward either way.

"We've been with them for a long time and if they want to participate that's fine, but if they don't we have major media companies that are ready to jump on board especially with the Cowboys and everything else," Arum said.

A two day press tour is already in play. Pacquiao-Clottey will have the kick-off press conference on January 18 in Dallas and the next stop on the tour will be in New York on the 19th. He plans to pack the undercard with Hispanic talent. Former welterweight champion Antonio Margarito is one of the fighters they are planning to put on the show. A three fight undercard is being put together for the pay-per-view.

"We're looking to put a lot of Hispanic fighters on the card. Margarito is one of them. I've already spoken with Dickie Cole [Texas Athletic Commission] on when he can apply [for a license]. Roberto Marroquin will definitely be on the show. They love him out here. And Bruce [Top Rank's head matchmaker] will put together some more matches," Arum said.

"There will be three fights underneath Pacquiao vs. Clottey. A press conference is scheduled for the 18th in Dallas and a New York press conference on the 19th. And as part of the deal we made with Jerry, is for them [Cowboys organization] to be involved."

Damn, $50 tickets....I need an excuse to go to dallas!

Tickets for Pacquiao-Clottey in Dallas Cowboy Stadium will go on Sale Next Saturday

“(Clottey is) training right now in the Bronx,” said Scolpino, who says he is operating a call center business somewhere in Cavite, a province just outside Manila.

Clottey, 32, spent two months in his native Ghana, and remained “in a very good condition” despite fighting the last time in June 2009, losing a close decision to Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico.

“Joshua doesn’t allow himself to go out of shape,” insists Scolpino, “(because) he plays soccer (when he is not training for a fight).”

Clottey will continue to train up until he heads to the two-city press tour in Dallas on Tuesday and in New York on Wednesday.

At the conclusion of the promotional tour, Clottey will either camp out “either in Florida or Nevada” for the most crucial phase of his preparation.

Meanwhile, tickets go on sale next Saturday with the premium ringside seat priced at $700.

Top Rank publicity chief Lee Samuels said tickets pegged at $500, $300, $200, $100 and $50 would also go on sale on that day.

The 80,000-capacity stadium, built to a staggering cost of $1.2 billion, will be reconfigured to 50,000 for the fight, the first time the sport is going to be held at the venue owned by Texas billionaire Jerry Jones.

Sick flicks. I think the whole Cowboy Stadium thing is going to be a great venue for this fight. I don't like the Cowboys but Jerry Jones is a boss.

That place is dope as fuck.

That would be the shit if they fought with the roof open!

Pacquiao tabs Clottey, jabs Mayweather

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The fight everybody wants will not come to the biggest football stadium in the NFL.

So instead of watching Manny Pacquiao take on Floyd Mayweather for some sort of welterweight title, $1.3 billion Cowboys Stadium will host a Joshua Clottey-Pacquiao fight.

The announcement of Pacquiao-Clottey for the WBO welterweight title came Tuesday in front of 500 fans seated two stories above the field.

When the fight happens March 13, promoter Bob Arum believes 40,000 fans will watch it. HBO will put the fight on pay-per-view to showcase Pacquiao, one of its biggest stars.

The sad part is that it doesn't help boxing. All it does it make the Pacquiao people take shots at Mayweather for not agreeing to a fight that had the potential to be one of the highest-grossing events in the history of the sport.

"It's a better fight to be honest with you," Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach said of the Clottey fight. "Actionwise, both guys come to fight, and Mayweather is a talented guy [but] he puts people to sleep and he runs and runs and runs."

The stumbling block of a potential Mayweather-Pacquiao fight was the scheduling of blood testing. Mayweather said he believes Pacquiao has used performance-enhancing drugs. Pacquiao said he felt insulted to be accused of taking PEDs.

"I feel bad. I'm a very honest person," said Pacquiao, who denied taking performance-enhancing drugs. "I'm a nice guy. They are accusing me of drugs. I don't know what that is. I feel bad."

Mayweather wanted Pacquiao to take a blood test 14 days before the fight instead of 24 days.

"It seemed to us after a particular point that Mayweather didn't want to do the fight," Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum said. "At the end, we had compromised this stupid blood testing down to 24 [days] and he was staying at 14 [days], and if he wanted to do the fight, what the hell difference does it make, 14 to 24? It was just to be a bully and have his way, and he lost the fight."

As for the Clottey fight, Pacquiao is the favorite and will get the rock star treatment in Texas. He was introduced last as he walked through the same tunnel the Dallas Cowboys use to take the field to a loud ovation from a large group of Filipino fans.

Pacquiao wore a Cowboys jersey, and team owner and general manager Jerry Jones even presented him with one of his Super Bowl rings.

The boxer felt special even in this massive stadium that can expand to 100,000, if needed. He should win this fight against a tough fighter in Clottey. Then again, that's what Pacquiao is supposed to do.

And while Pacquiao takes on Clottey, the man people want to see him fight will take on Shane Mosley sometime in the spring.

It will be interesting to see whether Mayweather asks Mosley to take a blood test in the same manner that he asked Pacquiao.

"The answer is I don't think these stipulations are good for boxing," Arum said. "I know Shane at one point used performance-enhancing drugs, but I know Shane and I really think he's a good man. I don't think that he does that anymore. Shane fought two of my fighters, [Miguel] Cotto and [Antonio] Margarito, and I never once [questioned whether Mosley used drugs]. I don't believe it."

It's a shame Clottey gets lost in a fight such as this because he can fight a little bit. His three losses are to Cotto, Margarito and Carlos Baldomir.

"This will be a tough fight," Pacquio said.

Yes, and people in Texas will come and support the first fight in Cowboys Stadium. But it won't be the fight we all want to see.

Screw Arum and PacMan. All he had to do was agree to take the blood test two weeks before the fight but they let their ego's get in the way.
