Mar. 2 - He's suspected of offing two Kansas City rappers in Vegas, part of a growing feud in the rap world. Now, in an exclusive jailhouse interview, rapper Mac Minister says he's innocent.
Andre 'Mac Minister" Dow was nabbed Thursday night in San Francisco.
It was a deadly trail in the world of hip hop. Four murders all may be linked together.
In the fall of 2004, Vallejo rapper Andre "Mac Dre" Hicks was shot to death in Kansas City.
As Hicks rode in a white van driven by a friend, someone in a black SUV opened fire, killing the popular Bay Area rapper.
Six months later, the bodies of Kansas City rapper Anthony "Fat Tone" Watkins and Jermaine Cowboy Akins were found in a Las Vegas housing development.
The rumor in the rap world was that they were the murderers of Andre Hicks in a feud between West and Midwest rappers.
At the time of the double shooting, Las Vegas police say San Francisco rapper Andre "Mac Minister" Dow, his friend Jason Mathis and Tanisha Aaron were in town.
In November, Dow and Mathis were indicted for the two murders -- murders police believe were to avenge the killing of Andre Hicks.
Two days later, Fairfield police found the body of Mathis' girlfriend Lee Danae Laursen.
Investigators believe she was killed because she witnessed the two murders. Mathis has already been arrested and awaits trial in Las Vegas.
Last night, FBI and San Francisco police arrested Andre Dow in an apt near AT&T Park. A woman in the apartment was also arrested.
Larae Guy, FBI spokesperson: "A female occupant refused to open the door. There was a verbal standoff for a period of time. She eventually opened he door and Mr. Dow was arrested without incident."
Andre Dow gave ABC7 an exclusive interview from the San Francisco County Jail, where he is being held.
Andre "Mac Minister" Dow, murder suspect: "All I'm saying is I'm innocent and I want people to look at the facts and don't let them draw all this hoopla into it, mess up everything and try to make me into this monster that I'm not."
Dow says he had no reason to kill rapper Anthony "Fat Tone" Watkins.
Andre "Mac Minister" Dow, murder suspect: "All I can tell you about Fat Tone and Mac Dre, they was "hellava" artists. And I had the opportunity to be associated with both of them and I had a lot of love for them."
Despite his troubles, the rapper was still plugging his new CD.
Andre "Mac Minister" Dow, murder suspect: "There's not much to say except I have an album coming out, the Mac Minister of Defense, that will be in the stores. And its coming out very soon in the next couple of months."
