yeah, so anyway, i consider myslef a top lyricist and comin fro ma lyricist, i tihnk that Yuk, FAB, and Locksmith are some of the top lyricists in the Bay. For those who dont kno good lyricism, here's a verse i wrote yesterday for a song of mine called "Don't Knock The Hustle:"

I see some of yall mentioning some rappers that are not lyricists at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im really suprised at people mentioning mac dre, ap9 fedx i mean wtf?? imma say this nas, cannibus, jayz etc. are lyricists now compare mac dre or fedx with them... nuff said...

You can't mention the bay and lyricists without yukmouth imo... Every great lyricist spits an OK verse from time to time even jay-z spit some wack 16's here and there... if thats what you meant by limited.. if not dont mind my reply...
yukmouth should be at the top of the list tho no doubt.. if you disagree you havent heard his latest shit i can put up quotes for days..
Basically my list is ( really in no order) :
-Yukmouth ( cant argue comes sick on some rewind shit 8 outta 10.. i do admit sometimes he can be lazy but when he get busy he rips it! from wordplay to metaphores, multisyllables and punchlines he got it locked... the only thing i feel yuk can do better is switch up his subject matter a lil more he raps too much about being a gangsta and flossin.... but i heard he is going back to the storytelling and deep life issues on his next album just hope thats true and not hype)
-Ya boy ( is a real punchline rapper he is young and he is still developing he is like a bay area version of jadakiss 90% punchlines but still dope tho i can see him becoming a great lyricist in the future but right now he is still an ok lyricist)
-San quinn ( has all the makings of a great lyricist.. but he can rap offbeat sometimes and his voice tends to get a lil boring after awhile and also he can get lazy sometimes i done heard him spit some wack verses here and there)
-Louice loc ( real firespitter too but he could work on his delivery some more )
-The jacka ( is also developing far from a great lyricist right now he needs to expand his vocab and work on being consistent but nonetheless he can spit out some impressing 8 bars here and there.. he has too many AVERAGE verses tho but he is gettin better with every album)
-Rydah ( really ridah is a great mc nigga can spit some hot shit dont really have too much complaints about him.. besides the fact that he cant really write good songs he has a straight flow nice wordplay not great either but he is getting better also)
A-wax ( despite all the shit people say about him this thread is not about who is the realest its about lyricists and awax can spit! like the jacka he could expand his vocab some more and sharpen up his delivery but if he does that its a wrap!!)
Fab ( can spit some hot shit if he wants to but gets caught up in the whole hyphy bullshit and tends to dumb down his rhymes alot.. dont get it twisted tho fab is a dope mc! he just needs to show it more )
Locksmith ( true lyricist! this nigga crazy with it you cant deny that from the shit i heard he sounds like a real battlerapper tho )
