The receiver was given to me. So i am happy with what i got.
Sound coming out of it is excellent in my opinion.

As far as my budget goes, i would say about $500.

Getting car speakers to work for my TV is no hassle to me.
Just looking to get my money's worth.

$500 can go a very long way in terms of speakers. Are you looking for towers? Bookshelf? Do you have surrounds already? A center channel? Or are you just interested in 2-channel set-up?

I have the surround and the center speaker already set up.
Im preferably looking for Bookshelf Speakers mainly because
i like the performance of them. But im just not speaker savvy.

Plus, they are pretty Decorative :)

But this set up is more than just watching TV and listening to music.
I will be using this set up while recording too.

If you were to get floorstanders, I would go with these hands down...

Some of the best bang-for-buck entry level speakers you can find.

For bookshelf, $500 can go a very long way. There are dozens of brands that would be good in this price range. While im very anti-Best Buy, I would check out some other local small shops around town...that will be your best bet for actually listening to some brands.

Believe it or not, these actually get some good praise throughout the audio community:

I have not heard them, but they are supposedly the best bang for your out there period.

I've had the Monitor50s for about 5 years. Great speakers for the price so I'm sure the 70s would be even better.
