answer: that was 2004, 2 years ago he was only out 3 years, AND it was late in the 2004 season when insurance qb's are always signed just incase something happens before playoffs.

they didn't sign him the same week that cuts need to be made and they didn't already have 3 other qb's active....Just because they like him.

see the thing is though, no other team would make a move like this during this important week, AND then the owner come out and say well I really like the guy. This is just another in the long list of examples of what is wrong with Raiders ownership. I have said this before and I am not ashamed to say it again, if the Raiders didn't have Al running things they could easily be a top team again, but he is such an ignorant guy and blind to what it really means to run a team in the 2000's they will be down until he goes away.

Now I already know the typical Raider fan responses of
well Al has done alot for the league...........HAS, last few years he has tried to sue the league more than anything.
The Raiders have also won super bowls......HAVE not did.

Al has Raider fans so enamoured in the past that they can't see the present.

well let's see 37 yards and a whopping 2 yard td run with a first string..cough cough unit

compared to our 3rd string running back who ran for more yards on less carries had a longer td all behind a 3rd string unit.
