Here are the representatives from each state, with the town and medium family income. The national average for family income is $50,000. The teams are listed in order from how they finished with the top being 1st place and currently in the LLWS.

You'll notice that of the 43 teams from places small enough to where you can predict the incomes, 21 of them are from places w/ medium incomes below the national average. That's almost half. Despite the view that baseball has become an expensive, elitist sport, baseball is still thriving in middle-class America.

i dont understand your point.
-------------------------------------------------------------

i also think LL is becoming more irrelevent with every year that passes.

there is a growing trend towards playing "REAL" baseball and not LL Baseball and with all of LL's rules and regulations i think they will continue to lose charters at a blazing pace

I see your point in thriving, but also look at it from where these teams are from...teams like Laramie, Roswell and Grand Junction....sure they make small household figures, but the household figures as a whole in those states aren't much.

Sure you can argue Grand Junction is in Colorado and denver, colorado Springs Aspen, all how high costs of liing and we make alot of money...BUT in terms of little league, Denver and Colorado Springs have more travelling and competitive teams than they do little league teams...so the mney spent on payers in actual little league is still about the same as Grand Junction.

So sure the stats show 1 thing but it doesn't take into account the real players in those cities NOT playing little league but actually chossing to play on competitive teams. So again while it looks impressive it really isn't when you factor in what I said about Denver for example.

The Laguna Bombers from Elk Grove,CA are the 2007 Cal Ripken 10-year-old World Series champions. Their 13-2 win over an Alabama team Saturday afternoon in Indiana came as a surprise. They didn't realize their 11-run lead automatically ended the game, until it was announced over the loudspeaker.

The team spent the past week at the tournament where they finished undefeated.

Monday night they arrived back in Elk Grove. Police and firefighters escorted their bus to Foulks Ranch elementary school were scores of parents and neighbors were waiting to congratulate them with non-stop cheers for 15 minutes.

The team's coach, Scott Abraham told the crowd, "We went back there and showed them how we play baseball in California."

Teammates also took a moment to thank the crowd for its support.

"We've come so far ... so far," said 10-year-old Nick Madrigal. Teammate and World Series MVP John Burke, remembered the moment they realized they had won. "We didn't know at first because we didn’t know there was a ten run rule and once we found out we were so excited that we won."

The coach calls the boys a truly special group who won more than just a championship. "I'll tell you what; these boys are the most special group you have ever seen. At 10-years-old they think they can take on the world and I think they can too."

WATCH OUT FOR THIS TEAM IN THE LITTLE WORLD SERIES NEXT YEAR!!!!!! WE PLAY SOME SERIOUS BASEBALL IN CALI

LOL @ anyone that takes little League serious!

My son plays Little league here in KC out at Johnson County 3 and 2.
These people are yelling at their kids for missing pop fly's and ground balls...

These people need some serious help! If you want your child to become some baseball star, guess what,.....they do not do it between the age's 5-15. They do it after that....

I dont understand why these people take little league so serious!

My sons coach is pulling out a FUCKING SPEED GUN on some 8 year old boys to see how hard they throw!!!!!

That is just ridiculous...

uhhh pretty sure that most people who become professional athletes built the foundation before they were 15. No one picks up a baseball at 15 and then gets drafted in 3 years by a pro team. I agree that some parents take it too far but still if the kids like the sport and want to do good then i dont see anything wrong with it. It takes years to make good players and that has to start early.

^^^son your comprehension level of reading is around 2nd-3rd grade.

Read what I wrote again.

my level of reading comprehension is extremely high, 780 out of 800 on the SAT's . If anything your statement was misleading, parents know that kids dont become stars that young, but they do know that if they want to be stars they need to start young. And im not ur son bitch, but it sounds like ur son is riding the bench on his team and thats why ur pissed.

the problem i got with LL is that they play this retarded form of baseball (resembles softball).

you got Parents/zCoaches out there that DONT know baseball and that think their kid is the best player in the league, when in reality the kid is probly around the 20th best player.

they play politics on ll boards to manipulate the leagues to accomodates their kids.

i am not saying this as a benchwarmer family member. my brother played LL, was a 1st round draft pick 1st year in the league. played for this league from 11-14, was the SS and #2 pitcher on the championship team EVERY YEAR.

i am saying this as a coach that saw board member manipulate scheduling, drafts, and various other parts of the season to accomodate their kids.

thats shy we got tired of the politics and moved on to travel ball. at the time we didnt even know much about travel ball, but came to find out that thats where all the good players were, playing real baseball in a highly competitive environment where all the players a good.

LL has in the past 5 years become a Rec. league IMO, their AS Teams are good, BUT couldnt and wouldnt last with Travel Ball Teams

I coached my son for more than a few years and he made all-star team on his own etc....he choose to not play this year because he seen the troubles I was having with the same type of board members you are referring too.

did he move up and play for a trvaveling team?
no I told him to choose wither that or basketball...he choose basketball since he knows more people there. I told him he'd meet new kids but he doesn't like change too much....lol

But yeah our board was awful last year...they gave me a schedule after I drafted my team, then half way through they changed it??? wtf is that all about, but never told me so my team and parenst tarvelled twice to away games that we got moved....IT SUCKED.

Then in all stars the coach wanted help, so I was like sure my sons on the team I'll help since I will be there anyways....well I was helping with practoces and all, things going fine..I think I did more than him for the team..lol, well then when it xomes time to fill out roster and get shirts...he picks a parent who hasn't helped, never coached, but had his son on his team earlier in season to be the assistant for the all-star team.
